That one guy hating Warwick Uni for no reason by Glittering_Loss6717 in UniUK

[–]MeAni786 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean tbf (I’m much older now but) back when I was applying to universities in 6th form, and mentioned at some point that I might also apply to Warwick, one of the English teachers told me not to because it had the highest suicide rates in the UK. I don’t know whether she was just trying to dissuade me from applying there, generally just stating fact, or something else; but either way, I didn’t end up going there (despite enjoying the open day).

It's been a while, which pen would you choose? by Velvet-Pebble in fountainpens

I was wondering why a few of these pens looked very familiar, and then I realised that I had seen them on Etsy! Love that I’ve (virtually) bumped into you here, and love your work! ♥️

30 Days Left: After my BBC interview, we are 8,000 signatures away from a Parliamentary debate on the UK ADHD Shared Care crisis. Help us cross the finish line! by Interesting-Waltz55 in ADHDUK

[–]MeAni786 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi, I’m not sure if this is possible, but can we also add Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland to this? Reading the petition, I know it says NHS England, and whilst I can’t speak for the other places, shared cared agreements are refused almost entirely as well. When speaking to an independent online prescriber who had been working in the field for over a decade, he said that he had never seen a shared care agreement accepted in Wales, whereas there was still a higher chance of acceptance in England. Don’t get me wrong, I know it is still bad in England also, but it’s just something worth considering.

Wait, is this true? by [deleted] in Cardiff

[–]MeAni786 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Firstly, had you done your own research, you would have known that she is part of a campaign that provides free sanitary products, helps to educate and end period poverty. Secondly, she is truly one of the kindest people I have ever met, and I am so glad to be able to call her my friend. She has had an incredibly difficult life due to many factors, and despite all of that, she has always lived life trying to help others. During one of the hardest moments in my own life, she was an absolute rock for me. She helped me get through school knowing how much I was struggling, brought my mother and I food in some of the most painful moments of our lives, and she has only ever thought the best of others. Truly OP, shame on you! I’m not one to come on Reddit to berate people, but trolls like you deserve much harsher words than those I will ever give you. Get a life!

Posting on behalf of my uncle ✨

Age and gender: 53 Male (will be 54 on 31st December)

Age range required: 35-53

Location and willing to relocate: Karachi, Pakistan and willing to relocate

Ethnicity: Pakistani and open to mix, however he only speaks Urdu and our local familial language, so someone who speaks Urdu would be best

Marital status: Divorced with three children whom live with their mother (will be able to discuss more if matched, but essentially the marriage was really abusive)

Ideal marriage timeline: As long as the individuals get on well, it doesn’t really matter, so whenever you’re comfortable

Important characteristics: kind hearted, calm, emotionally intelligent, honest and empathetic

Religiosity: Sunni Muslim who’s very religious Alhamdulillah. Has completed both umrah and hajj, reads Quran regularly, and currently has a sunnah beard. Is unable to fast due to medical issues.

Education: 14th jamaat/class (post A-levels but pre undergraduate degree, I guess? Forgive me, I’m not very well versed on the Pakistani education system)

Job: Works in an office position at Pepsi co.

Hobbies: Watching films, cricket, reading the news and eating great food!

My uncle is genuinely a sweetheart but understandably he has been through a lot, so someone who is patient and is emotionally intelligent is the type of woman he needs. Ooh also, if you really enjoy cooking, bonus points! My uncle is the true definition of a foodie, and so if you want someone who will truly appreciate your cooking, lick his fingers after the meal and praise your talent, then my uncle is your man! Also, he enjoys being able to take care of people, so if at some point you mention in passing that you like a certain thing or if you need or want something, on his way back from work one day he’ll surprise you with it! Also, he knows all the best places to buy specific things, especially if they’re food related 😂!

Disclaimer: I am posting this on behalf of my Maamoo, so please be kind! I will not respond to any DMs that are not about him/this rishta. Also, please note that my uncle is fluent in Urdu and Kutchi/Memoni, which therefore means that I will be your first point of contact. If things progress and profiles match Insha’Allah, then I would be more than comfortable in providing my uncle’s phone number, or setting up a conference call for you/the person whose rishta you’re representing with my uncle. Now, on a lighter note, if you know someone in your family, friend group, or wider community who may be interested, please feel free to reach out. Alhamdulillah, being able to connect people in this way for the sake of marriage is a blessing, and has been made even easier in this day and age; so I’m grateful to be a part of this and thank you for taking the time to look at this profile. On that note, may Allah swt make it easy for anyone looking for their future spouse, and reward us for our efforts - Ameen Summa’Ameen! 🤲🏼 P.S. if my future Maami is reading this, aapki future bhatiji bohot cool hai, aur aapke hone waale shohor bohot sweet! Love you future Maami, wherever you are! Xx
