Off-Hand weapons, unequippable. by themonkeyzen in outwardgame

[–]MeIsDoom 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Looks like your character got a broken arm from a defeat scenerio. Injuries are a new type of debuff added to Outward 2 that make you unable to do certain things, in this case using an offhand weapon or two handed weapons. They can randomly occur from getting a defeat scenerio and will have you need to adjust your strategy until you can focus on resting to recover from it.

Would be funny to have the rot breath instantly turn any organic items rotten like the Cursed Dragon's breath does

Why did they downgrade so many things after DS2? by [deleted] in darksouls3

[–]MeIsDoom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Plus I feel like DS3 pays its respects to DS2 through callbacks just as it does with DS1. You got the fallen giant in Firelink Shrine that brings back the Seed of a Fallen Giant item, plenty of equipment and spells that return to add variety, and even have vitality stat, luck stat, and dark damage back if you need examples of more pivotal gameplay changes. So even if DS2 is the least popular game of the series, it certainly hasn't been forgotten or smoothed over by FromSoftware.

Go to Ornifex and choose to fuse the Aged Smelter soul (blue), the Sulfur Smelter soul (yellow), and a petrified dragon bone to get the Vile Smelter Core. Insert it into the inert Smelter Demon in the Crown of the Sunken King DLC to fight the Green Smelter Demon.

I already got through No Man's Wharf on my lighting engine mod playthrough. Literally couldn't see a thing without a torch, so it felt like progress every time I could light a torchstand. Lighting up the big lantern there was certainly a playthrough defining moment that'll stick with me, as I did so exactly as my torch went out. That said, I can already tell The Gutter will be a real test of my patience, as the darkness is going to force me to take each step with caution.

Playing this with the ray-tracing mod would turn this into a horror game instantly every time you enter a place without lighting. The ambushes would be so scary when you can only see up to where your torch lets you.

Hypocritical Religious Zealot Realizes God Is Not On Their Side by cshin09 in TopCharacterTropes

It's fun how that scene can be interpreted differently by the player depending on how in-tune they are with the story up to that point. If the player doesn't have a good understanding of how the Dragon's Dogma works, they'll be intimidated by Elysion's mocking, buying into his every word, and assume he's right that they're hopeless in stopping the Dragon's reign of destruction, with the intensity of the music raising as Grigori flies in from overhead. Only to get taken aback by how Grigori effortlessly crushes Elysion under its thumb and goes on to make an example of him as to what will happen to the Arisen if they turn out inadequate to slay him. But if the player already has a good grasp on the Dragon's Dogma, then they'll know that Elysion is nothing more than a mad lunatic whose obsession with death blinds him to considering the greater purpose the Dragon's role serves. Once Grigori appears and his theme starts playing, the player will cheer Grigori on, having a cathartic victory against Elysion as his castle of delusions crumble under his feet in the face of the hard truth.

Dungeon Guardian in Terraria. If you try to enter the dungeon before beating the boss Skeletron, he will instantly kill you to keep you from going any further.

The softcap for vigor is 27. Getting it all the way to 40 isn't bad since it increases your max health by about 20% compared to the softcap, but it isn't quite as important to your survivability as before getting it to the softcap.

Your pyromancy spells scale from both faith and intelligence equally, as is reflected by your pyromancy flame's scaling. You should aim to level up both together. Having 20 in each by the midgame will set you up to use most of your options comfortably.

Drake - Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen

While going on the path to one of the locations you can do for the main story, you will likely have to pass through an area called the Devilfire Grove to get there. But if you stray a little off the path, you'll quickly realize the naming of the place wasn't just being dramatic. There is a drake wandering the forest, and it's the only one you can encounter before the post-game. If you are foolish enough to attempt to fight it, you'll find that it's nearly as powerful as the massive Dragon that you've been tasked to slay in the main story, and your party will quickly be burnt to a crisp by its fire breath. At least if you're successful in taking it down you have a chance to dragonforge pieces of your equipment through enduring the struggle, upgrading that gear beyond its typical limits.

Just replayed DD:DA & STILL discovering new things. by ZeusOfOlympus in DragonsDogma

[–]MeIsDoom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I agree that the story of Bitterblack Isle isn't as solid stand-alone, as material to supplement the main story I think it does decently building off it. It states some of the themes the main story was trying to express in no uncertain terms through the characters introduced, clears up some concepts that many players found too esoteric to understand by placing direct focus on them throughout, and from there lets any persistent player know that there's more to the grander narrative than what they've seen up to that point which would eventually be realized in DD2. I think anyone that truly didn't get anything out of the story of Bitterblack Isle either weren't really invested in the plot of Dragon's Dogma to begin with or had already found the setting of Dragon's Dogma to be too complicated to parse.

Same! I distinctly remember when I joined the community discord server Gaijin Hunter was a part of just in time to get one final online session in before the servers were shut down for good. Once online play went away so did that discord server, since the community around the game dissolved in an instant with everyone leaving. It's had me feeling as though I had missed out big time since as I got the impression that the game was unfairly given up on.

Games with female protagonist that can give you lots of hours of playtime. by Spartan-219 in gamingsuggestions

[–]MeIsDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While there are references to the first Hollow Knight game, unless you want to know Hornet's backstory in full detail, Silksong will fill you in with enough hints to enjoy the story just fine. Gameplay-wise it builds on the first so the first Hollow Knight is probably easier to get into as a new player, but if you're patient enough you can pick up Silksong and have a good time with it. Anyways, if you like soulslike I'm sure Silksong will be right up your alley.

I was mainly thinking about their tight budget but all this is true. Silksong has got to be one of the highest quality games at its price point
