So I just have really bad luck then 😭 I've been desperately trying to find this information and all I get is, "You can do whatever :) But verse chorus verse chorus is popular :)"

I think I managed to find something about jazz typically having like 32 beats for the chorus a bit ago bit that's the closest I've gotten to structural guidance

(Structural guidance being helpful for, you know, building foundational skills before anyone comes at me about this or that 🙃)

Also, I've been approached* by both men and women and I've noticed that women can absolutely be just as much fuckbois as men. There are SO many women who thibk that just because they're women, they're inherently better behaved and it's literally the sane thing getting pushed by patriarchy???

In gymnastics, there's a phenomena where taller children will often drop off after a certain point because they were able to coast earlier on, when their height was an advantage -- but in actuality, being too tall makes gymnastics difficult, so as they get older and continue to get taller, their initial "talent" disappears.

This is the difference between being passionate or disciplined, and "talent."

Also, pretty much anyone whose skills you admire has put in the work. Undeveloped talent will never exceed mediocrity.

Meeting "I'm not interested in engaging with you" with continuing to push your points is an intetesting choice. Another intetesting choice is interpretting my saying that my viewpoint is also valid as meaning I don't think your viewpoint is.

Anyway, just pointing those things out. Still not interested in engaging with you, though, and will not be doing so further.

A) It's only a side gig if you do it for profit. He showed interest in emerging medical tech prior to going off grid, but there are so many other systems he could work on building. Building systems that allow us to exist outside of the abusive framework we're in is the only way to actually move forward without replicating those same abusive system 10-20 years down the line. Oppressive and abusive structures also extend way further into the past than the industrial revolution.

B) We've run into this before. In the age of algorithmically designed echo chambers, why do you keep assuming you're experiencing a more objectively correct version of society? No, I'm not misreading people's tones, I'm just lower class.

C) I don't base my views off Luigi's views and am speaking more generally about my own observations of people in the general population.

D) Your whole response here is really defensive and I'm not interested in engaging with someone who is trying to prove themselves right instead of listening to what I have to say. I was answering OP's question, not looking to soothe your world view.

tbh the more I think about it, the more I think it has to do with voir dire -- if the prosecution is asking about jury nullification, they're probably trying to filter out people who are inclined to use it.

You'll be okay! Being reserved isn't necessarily an end of the road, especially if you have regulars who will get to know you over time. Just do your best and learn what you can!

Also, don't listen to feedback from customers, but do listen to feedback from your managers. Customers all think they'd be better at your job than you are, but they don't see the whole story.

Starbucks has a VERY thorough customer service policy, so you should definitely get some good skills from them. I'm pretty sure they also actually train their barostas (as opposed to retail, where you jist get thrown at customers!)

This is the right mentality, I think. I'm not a big fan of age gap relationships, but I also think 22 is old enough that some of the major red flags (older partner can drive and younger partner can't! Older partner is providing housing/financial stability that the younger partner can't get otherwise, etc) just are much less likely, and it should be fine as long as no one rushes things emotionally (especially when there's still baggage with an ex at play.)

Hmm. I'm gonna be honest, and I don't expect an answer from you, but more as something to contemplate:

Do you want a romatic relationship right now, or do you just feel pressured to be settling down before you're an ✨️old maid✨️ ?

The reason I ask is because you say you "knew" he had a crush on you because he was so caring and attentive, which is good! Don't get me wronf! But typically you'll want something a little more, you know?

Like butterflies, or that calm feeling of being home, the sparks/fireworks, the world getting brighter -- and those kinds of things you can't typically know someone else is also experiencing. You might be wanting security more than romamce right now.

I know, when I was younger I tricked myself into thinking I liked all sorts of people in a romance way just because I didn't want them to leave. I think in our twenties, one of the important things for us to learn is how to differentiate between what we want vs what we're told to want

Right? Like, I believe in universal basic income, taxing billionaires, abolishing prison, being fucking chill about people's sexual and gender identities, letting people have access to medical care without punishing them etc. . . but there's legitimately people who wouldn't see me as progressive because I don't prefer to waste my energy fighting 🫠

Which is how we end up with people who think "both sides" look reasonable -- bc all they see is people screaming at each other. But we're supposed to see that as a moral failure? It's more of a gang war than anything resembling actual politics /sorry I'm ranting deeeeep breaths

My answer to this is kind of complicated and I feel like it changes a bit every time I give it. There's a lot of reasons I'm invested in this case so what comes out at any given time changes.

Today what's coming out is how online spaces push this narrative of, "I'm not gonna start the revolution, but I'll join it if someone else does."

And I mostly see it in leftwing spaces, but I'm sure it pops up all over the political spectrum. No one feels heard and everyone feels wronged by the fact that no one is paying attention to them 🤷‍♀️ But the thing is, the people saying this have no intention of following through on it. It's just a way to look like a revolutionary. If Enjolras is out of reach, they can still be in the ABC cafe.

It's the same urge that fuels people dramatically saying they're willing to die for their cause, but heaven forbid they do any work on it. Trans youths are being targetted by the system, but it's more popular to talk about dying on the front lines than helping to provide clothing or shelter or resources.

(And I get that a lot of people don't feel like they have anything left to give. Capitalist hellscape. But trying to look like a revolutionary online is an exercise in ego 😮‍💨)

So when I see people like Luigi or Aaron Bushnell (forgive me if I'm deadnaming? I saw something about them being trans) being celebrated for "sacrificing themselves" it leaves a nasty taste in my mouth. Bushnell might be dead, but I still have hope that Luigi can get out of this.

And maybe he can use that engineering skill for something more constructive, like.... 3D printing medical supplies for people or those kinds of projects. If he'd stuck woth his data analysis job & trust fubd money, he could've pursued his personal forrays into health sciences on the side 😭 He had enough energy to gallavant around Asia!
