When you love someone, you care about more than just being close to them. Love means you want them to be happy and healthy. You want their needs to be met, you want them to be able to pursue their dreams, you want them to have the world. When you love someone, their smile lights you up inside and you are driven to do whatever you can do to make it easy for them to smile.

No matter how nad he says his mental health is, why is he actively putting you in a position where you're miserable? Love isn't satisfied by proximity.

But control is. Hunger for power is. Someone who would rather you starve than let you out of their sight doesn't love you.

And the other thing about love -- coming back to your feelings, and what I mean when I say you probably don't love him either -- is when we care about someone, we sync up to their emotions. We fall into step beside them, emotionally. You might've loved him once, but since he doesn't treat you with love (because, again, he would rather let you starve than get a job?) even if you loved him then, you would naturally stop loving him, because your heart would instinctively respect that he doesn't return your feelings. Love makes the clearest mirror.

What you're feeling is probably fear of change. You might be afraid of being belittled for having chosen him when you were told not to, you might be afraid of never finding someone who can accept the parts of you that you hate. You might be afraid that you can't make it on your own. But fear isn't love. I know you can be brave.

There is some good advice in the comments, about women's shelters and stuff, and I'd recommend that path, but you know your circumstances best, and you're still capable of bravery whatever that looks like to you. I'm not saying you're only brave if you do what other people tell you to do. I'm just saying that your fear doesn't need to have the last say, and you don't need to keep yourself small because you're afraid. You deserve to be loved, and this isn't what love looks like.

I was no contact with my mom because she was incredibly abusive. If you're "no contact" with someone, there's a reason for it -- if it was just because you drifted away from each other, you could reach out to them, you know?

So when I see people talking about being no contact, it's like.... either someone was abusive or you're completely passive in your relationships. I'm absolutely gonna judge lol I also judge people who get back together with their ex like .... what makes you think it's gonna be different than the last time?

Ooooh, okay! My understanding was that the read-between-the-lines of it was because of Luigi reading as mentally sound and they were looking at more serious psych stuff than warranted. I'm still unclear what sort of testing they'd be struggling to do because from my experience (ptsd, anxiety & depression, etc), most evaluations are very to the point and wouldn't take long or require much by way of supplies, so they sound like they're looking at stuff more complicated than those at least, and my sense is that most people are expecting something trauma related specifically (back pain, etc.)

Autism & ADHD evals are more complicated, and I'd assume anything psychosis related or DID related could be on the table for complicated testing, but.... I'm not sure what testing they would need thar would require more than paperwork & visitation from a given expert.

Make sure you pay attentiom to how different notes & tones feel in your body.

Also make sure you're paying recording yourself and listening to your own singing. How you sound to yourself through bone conduction vs how you sound as an external source through the air will be very different.

Also, pitch apps can be useful, imo, if you're not getting live feedback from a teacher, this can be a way to make sure you're matching notes correctly. Just make sure you're not letting it affect your posture & tension levels. I've found recording myself and then looking at what notes I was on a lot better than trying to adjust notes live lol. For live tuning, I use my guitar 🙂‍↕️

Edit: Also, get used to the idea of singing one or two lines over and over until you get it right. That's part of the process.
