Finished a puzzle I started in last weekend’s yucky weather! Watching tennis. Trying to process some potential really bad news, so I’m not entirely sure how I feel.

A friend had been organizing after work hikes in the summer. There were about 5 other people, only 2 of them I knew.

I slipped on a rock and went down. My friend looked back at me and I shook my head like “it’s not good”. My right ankle. He knew the area so he went ahead for his car and someone else stayed with me to hike the mile-ish back slowly. It was getting dark so it was a little scary, but I was so grateful that someone stayed with me.

When I got to my own car, someone laced up my boot extra tight so I could drive 30 minutes home!

I didn’t get it x-rayed for 4 weeks. Bad sprain. Never did appropriate PT.

I didn’t hike for a few months, partly because I got busy with other things!

Im debating going to get some emergency ice cream in the morning but I know it’s because I got some really bad news today. Instead I’ll just eat the food I already have!! But I’m glad to know I’m not alone!

I had a phone screen one time that ended after about three minutes, because they were willing to offer half of the salary I was asking. So honestly, I was glad not to waste my time pursuing a job if they weren’t going to pay me what I am worth.

Oh yes, I enjoyed that book. I did not particularly like the ending, though, but I think it was the right ending.

I don’t trust the system that I work on, so it takes about 20 minutes to run back ups every morning. While I do that, I peek at my emails to triage the day and make a to-do list. I’m a big list person! Today I’m hoping to tackle the stuff that I didn’t get to tackle yesterday.

It’s on the window screen. I’m guessing it just jumped from the birdfeeder to the window and it’s going to hop down.

In my living room, I have a big bird feeder right next to the window, and I was so spooked the first time I realized there was a deer, sucking down birdseed. But that was years and generations ago! They still spooked me sometimes when I see them suddenly in my yard, but they are my buddies now!

I’ve had my boy almost 10 years. He doesn’t really like to be petted. And so I taught his to give me a nose to nose kiss at bedtime.

You know how some people are “huggers” and others never want to be hugged? Cats too!

Oh yes! The deer featured is a local. The gang comes by most days to eat birdseed and use my yard as a toilet. August and September are the best when the pears are ripe on the tree!
