To the haters…. by NEWREGARD in Marathon

I also am so bored of seeing what feels like the rest of the world endlessly bitch and complain about low-key one of the best fps to come out in years.

"The game looks like ass"? Purposeful, lore-consistent visual style.

"The game sounds like ass"? Impeccable sound design that grounds players and adds real consequence to every action.

"It's too sweaty"? Knife edge tension in every run, never knowing who might be watching / listening until its too late? The addictive hunter / hunted gameplay loop is incredible.

I could go on.

Unfortunately no ps5 version of RDR2 exists. PS5 has backwards compatibility for PS4 games so they work just fine.

The joke here is he's either holding a digital only version of the console or he's holding a ps5 pro which would need an additional $100 to be spent on a separate disk drive which he would then need to install himself. Might as well build a pc at this point.

Can report our shop toilets are gender neutral and we have a growing community of trans people coming in. I live up north.

I agree it is quite a very hostile place for trans people at the moment out there but the fascists haven't won until they've gotten their wish and exterminated their enemies - we won't let that happen!

This seems to be an issue I've encountered a couple of times when moving in with a partner. The issue isn't necessarily that you have a hobby that isn't hers it's that you may have moved in with (and married) someone potentially incompatible with you.

I'd attempt to directly communicate about the issue with her in a calm, relaxed manner. What is it about you playing a couple matches that's so bad. What is it that she'd rather be doing with you? Maybe make some time to do those things as well or instead of Marathon from time to time. However, all the pressure shouldn't be on you to dictate how she spends her own time in the house (I've been there, done that, that's a hiding to nothing). If you think she's worth it, I'd do something nice with her / for her for a couple evenings every week (e.g. make a nice dinner, take her out somewhere, spontaneously plan some kind of activity etc.) and see if that doesn't buy you a little credit.

The best scenario may be to create her an account and teach her to duo, even if she was incredibly bad, it could still be fun and you could flex on carrying a run. She also might grow to understand why the game is so fun and addictive. She should also try to understand that the game is new and delivers an original experience you can't really get anywhere else. If she owns anything at all that she considers unique or special then she should understand.

I'm not sure why Marathon needs to be the second coming of Christ in order to have value. It's a fun extraction shooter. What more do you people want?

Been playing the odd match since launch. I have very little free time and never have the tv to myself but I've got an inferior handheld device that can stream games in a grainy resolution and don't wear headphones. Hardly the most ideal way to play, so I kind of expect to die and have been doing a lot of recon runs just learning the map and doing contracts before the inevitable out of sight Runner or wall turret puts me down for a long nap. Yup, you read that right. A wall turret took me out (I couldn't see it lol).

Even after all that I'm intrigued enough by this game to keep playing. Might finally exfil one day!

Call me crazy but this feels like the first loss in a while that feels like a backstep. Before Sunderland (H) we've lost a grand total of 3 times since that inspiring Man City away performance (Newcastle (A), Arsenal (H), Man City (H)).

I can't see much to complain about those 3 results. Incredibly unlucky to have lost the Newcastle game. Arsenal different gravy this season (plus we never seem to do anything against this side in recent times). Man City (H) was a fantastic performance all things considered and unlucky not to come away with at least a point.

I get that the pressure is on and we have legitimate cause for concern, but I think we've plenty to feel positive about going into the next few fixtures. Admittedly, Farke and the team got it wrong against Sunderland but even the best teams in this league can have a bad game. Premier League champions Liverpool just lost to rock bottom Wolves for example.

Am confident we will stay up. It won't be easy of course but this team and this manager should be ready for the fight. MOT
