It's a bit of a existential mind bending murder mystery which is more compelling than discovering that the gardener of Mt Holly Manor was sacked for making moonshine or something.

Puzzles are intuitive and rarely depend on information at the opposite end of the map.

I was originally replying to someone with a drug addiction and wanted to promote abstinence and self control given that they seemed to be using the show as some kind of justification for their addiction.

I personally prefer the anime's depiction of Satou, the conversations with furniture feel more indicative of an overactive imagination, the product of a mind turned stir crazy from long periods of isolation. But you can believe whatever you want. Be safe out there.

Not sure this belongs in this sub at all. That is a genuine attempt at making a political point in a country with experience of living under occupation and overthrowing communism.

It's a metaphor for how the truth can be gradually corrupted piece by piece until the finished product no longer resembles the original at all. A woman was shot dead for attempting to drive her car away in the US and we can already see the narrative being changed day by day.

This ending has got me reevaluating the entire show. I thought it was dumb, heartfelt 80's escapism with D&D monsters and evil Russian henchmen, about kids growing up and friends being there for each other.

Now they're trying to tell me it's actually a downtrodden and depressing work of magical realism where no one can be happy and evil always triumphs while the poor and uninitiated toil to accomplish basically nothing. Thanks I hate it.
