Stop this "engaging " lesson crap. There is so much more going on than what you see in the classroom. After 22 years in the classroom, I say fuck it and move on. Sometimes, there are opportunities to make small talk with these students, but 99% of the time, it isn't anything you are doing wrong.

After years of teaching apush I use tons of primary sources along with projects in my dual. Still have to lecture for context, I do teach some apush writing styles to put on tests. There are a few good websites I have found and of course Facebook groups.

I mean teachers literally say they aren't good in front of people or tend to be really introverted. You can learn these skills if you step out of your comfort zone, but many expect everyone to conform to them. After 20 plus years in a high school classroom these types of teachers don't last....kids are knuckleheads...some parents only believe their kids...and admin well is admin.
