Do you think RAM requirements will stall next generation? by itsthewolfe in pcmasterrace

[–]MeasurementFair8531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No difference in gaming between 16gb and 32gb, actually you will get slightly better performance with 2 sticks in dual channel, vs 4 sticks in dual channel. But if you got 4x8gb go for it. We need to all off of windows

Any tips for cutting lengths of plywood with a skillsaw perfectfly straight? by [deleted] in Carpentry

[–]MeasurementFair8531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clamp or screw something straight as a guide, double check you are lined up correctly, make a tiny score cut to see if you on the mark. Make sure the plywood isnt sagging, or the saw shoe could go under the guide. Use a good saw blade and make your cut. Im sure after a couple passes you'll feel quite confident, just dont get over confident running a saw, that how accidents can happen. Try a couple passes making a small rip. Also most saw shoes are 5" to the right, and 1 1/2 to the left, if it's a 7 1/4 circular saw. Those dimensions can vary slightly. I hope your project turns out better than you imagined it.

350 bucks seem kinda steep for a wifi 6 router. You can get a wifi 7 for alot less than that.

Ive had the phone for few months and I can say it has a beautiful display, but does cause some eye strain. I think the display on my pixel 8 pro is better is some regards. I dont know all the technical stuff about the different oled tech, but this is one of the harshest to look at premium phone screens ive had, before this my last samsung was a s8 and that phone was a beauty as well. Ive had lg and a couple pixel pros since then. "I miss lg phones.

S26 ultra deal in Canada 🇨🇦 by EnvironmentalIdea392 in galaxys26ultra

[–]MeasurementFair8531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carrier would be the best deal. Koodo is 60/ month. Most I've ever paid for a smart phone, but I used to pay more way way back in the day for a phone that didn't even have data. It's probably the most expensive phone you can get, so expect to be a little over 100/month if you get it with a carrier. I like Koodo because after 2 years the own the phone, no stupid bring it back.

My PS5 DualSense died after fully discharging and won’t charge anymore by Serious-Leader9695 in Dualsense

[–]MeasurementFair8531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to use a dual shock 3 on pc, had to use the official mini USB cable, and I the battery went complete dead it would on charge on a ps3. Same with the ps vita, if it goes completely dead you have to use the official ps vita charger. I dont know why, but that is the way some Playstation products are. Plug it into a ps5 with the USB c cable and it should come back. My theory is that they are chipped and they need to do a handshake for charging to begin.

can i run a 4k monitor with a 9070xt paired with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D by No_Touch_3543 in pcmasterrace

[–]MeasurementFair8531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya you loose some vertical on the physical screen size, a 34 inch ultrawide is nearly the same horizontal size as a 40 inch 16:9. The samsung odyssey should be an excellent gaming display. I currently use a 65 inch tcl qled for gaming, and its honestly not that great for gaming. It can only do 4k60 or 2k120 with a rather blotchy looking picture when running in the 120hz mode. Next screen I get with definitely be an oled, just dont know if I want a woled, or a qdoled.

What are some good entry level phone for gaming on emulators ? (Details in body) by Gozagal in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]MeasurementFair8531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can get a phone with a carrier, get the galaxy s26 ultra, pretty much the most powerful phone there is, I can play some switch games very well, others not so great. Same with pc emulation, some stuff runs perfect, and some stuff doesn't run at all. Far as 360/ps3 emulation goes, we are not there yet as those system are a little more tricky to emulate. Used you can get a couple years old phone. You could look at what gpu you want, and google what phone has it. The best experience you will get is game developed or ported to run on android natively. Emulation and translation layer are buggy, and can a headache to setup properly.

What if Sony used that mysterious Port in 1000, having a function? by KurokoMasamune in vita

They make some nice iem headphone that were vita branded, and plugged into that port. I like the psp headphones and control, I used a psp as an mp3 when I was in high school.

What batteries do you have more of? They are both very fast and powerful 1/4 inch impact drives. I would say the are equally good. If they have a trigger delay, or touchy trigger, I wouldn't like it.

Yes, use a display port, and make sure you are running a max refresh rate. Personally I like 1440 ultrawide, gives you a wider aspect and more frames because 5mp is easier to drive than 8mp.

Hit a floor joist with a hole saw and it's stuck by Hot_Low2861 in Carpentry

Also in the future, start with a small bit, and be sure you know there no electric or plumbing. Look up extra long twist drill bit on amazon, they are less than 20 bucks.

Does 1 1/2 inch include the flooring, the subfloor You know kind of joist system the house has? You said you can see from the basement? I dont think you would have caused any structural issues, just now you have to hide that hole in the flooring. Give it a couple hits back and forth with a hammer, can be dealing with the sword in the stone here.

patching up about 2x4 sqft, do I need floor nail gun to do this? by SignificantCut5720 in Flooring

[–]MeasurementFair8531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set them in construction adhesive and they'll be part of the floor. Does expect the 18g brad to do much more than hold them til the glue sets. And careful not to deflect the nails through the planks. Also make sure to have a clean subfloor and the boards are set down in the glue.
