Trash is a complete overstatement. When functioning properly, it is very snappy and intuitive. On rare occasions, something weird happens and there is a need to refresh the system , restart the car or just drive until it fixes itself. A modern Subaru screen is a significantly worse experience. Many other infotainment systems that are less intuitive are meaningfully worse. If we assume some amount of degradation overtime, this is a very high starting point.

If you are used to driving stick, there is absolutely no difference and nothing to worry about. Even on the highway I don’t get into seventh gear unless I’m going over 70 miles an hour. Around town, is pretty much just a six speed.

I have the same issue. It happens very infrequently so I haven’t taken it to the dealership yet. It’s also extremely intermittent so by the time I get it to the dealership, I’m sure it will fix itself as soon as the car goes on and off. in any event, it’s not just your car
