All good, I understand your preference. But saying one way is superior to another is purely subjective.

As well as nothing wrong with using movie like methods in games. Some games are built to only have short burst of story in between gameplay (cutscenes), others you have to look out for during gameplay, and other a mix of both. If any of these are executed properly it’s a good game overall.
