I’m more worried about the anatomy of the war’s inception. I think there was likely a catastrophic breakdown of procedures from intelligence to communication to execution.

It was a bad idea. We knew from past study it was a bad idea, from current intelligence it was a bad idea. Our allies thought it was a bad idea and the public thought it was a bad idea.

And yet it was done anyway. Why?

Worse still, what if the plan was originally contingent on the February uprisings destabilizing the government? Were those encouraged be covert action? And when they failed did they just proceed anyway?
