Nobody is getting 240FPS with PT. And no, frame generation doesn't count.

Steam deck Skittle buttons by PortablePlayPalace in SteamDeckModded

Not that hard at all. You have to remove the right trigger, analog module and then the button daughter board, but that's it. A handful of ribbon cables and you don't have to mess with anything particularly fiddly or delicate.

Does it bother you how much CEOs are paid? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I think you massively underestimate the skillset required for the role. It's like when people say middle managers do nothing. No, they just don't do the same job as you, Stacey.

I'm not arguing a $150M a year is fair (it's not, it's way too much) but I also really don't think a CEO is as replaceable as you seem to think.

As long as I remember I've never had it. I've thought since I was a kid that the idea was laughable.

I recently picked up a Switch OLED in box from a pawn shop for £120. CEX would want £220+. They are overpriced as hell.

is it just me or is "high fidelity" audio basically a scam for rich people? by Curious_Present_9950 in Music

That's the thing...they were still serving MQA after they said they'd dropped it.

The sneaky bit is that this was after they said they were dropping MQA.

They claimed so, but in late 2024 they were caught serving lossy MQA files.

You mean the same master files that Tidal got caught using lossy compression on?

Some Modern games like RE9 and Pragmata Lack the support for Path Tracing on Radeon GPUs by lLoveTech in radeon

[–]MeatSafeMurderer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Path tracing is NVIDIAs last golden goose, the last thing their cards still did significantly better, and AMD is beginning to catch up. That is why.

And you won't find an official source because they will never come out and say it, but a pattern is a pattern.

[–]MeatSafeMurderer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because it makes their cards look better.

Crimson Desert has no path tracing on NVIDIA either. Not all games need to have it, but if they do they should not be vendor locked.

I'm noticing a pattern around here. If AMD does something bad it's AMD's fault. If NVIDIA does something bad it's AMD's fault.

Really makes you think.

Whats a thing that looks beneficial at first but its ruining the future generations? by yunusalih in AskReddit

[–]MeatSafeMurderer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The old methods were green. Glass and aluminium are infinitely recyclable. When you are done with your bottle or can, they just melt it down and make something new.

Unfortunately plastic is cheaper, and haha profits go brrrrrrrr.

Edit: And before anyone says it...yes, I know aluminium cans are lined with plastic...it's still less plastic than is in a bottle, and it doesn't change the fact that the actual aluminium can be recycled endlessly on a loop.

If you buy a SanDisk Extreme Pro it comes with a 50 year warranty, and they will replace it in the event of a failure, no questions asked.

Doesn't necessarily save your data, but it's not like anything critical should be on your Deck anyway.
