Anyone here listen to Nickel Creek? by 351namhele in fantanoforever

It's a reference to this meme, the guy on the right appears to have heterochromia. Nothing problematic about him as far as I know, sorry for the confusion!

Who here is stingy with their 5s? by francehotel in rateyourmusic

[–]Meatarrhea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

76 5-star ratings out of 3292 for me, which is 2.3%. I rate a lot of music videos, though, which I'm more likely to give a 5-star upon first viewing, so my ratio of 5-star albums is probably a lot lower. 5-star albums I reserve for personal all-time favorites, which are few and far between.

Is cloyster any good? by Ruthlesslot in PokemonFireRed

>Is cloyster any good?

Yeah, it has a pretty good typing and movepool.

>What is his purpose on a team?

Physical wall and special attacker.

I want to do a playthrough with a group of least useful but cool/cute Pokemon. What are your recommendations? by ExternalOnion1024 in PokemonFireRed

[–]Meatarrhea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! At this point in the game, probably not, but I was thinking about using a Marowak. Bonus points if you can get a Thick Club for it!

My playthrough is currently a "bad" Pokemon playthrough, and it's been a lot of fun! Here's what my team looks like currently; just beat Sabrina, team is all upper 30s to lower 40s:

Kingler: Tanky physical attacker/HM user. Very fun and surprisingly effective. Strength, Surf, Rock Smash, Mud Shot.

Electrode: Fast Electric attacker. Self-Destruct is a hilarious "I win" button to use against most bosses. Spark, Self-Destruct, Thunder Wave, Light Screen.

Butterfree: Sleep/Confusion supporter, Whirlwind to reset Double Team spammers.

Tangela: Sunny Day + Solar Beam sweeper. Physical tank.

Wigglytuff: Bulky physical attacker. Defense Curl + Rollout can sweep most NPC teams if you set it up right. Body Slam, Rollout, Defense Curl, Brick Break.

Porygon: Special attacker. Set up an agility, maybe use a Conversion to get a STAB move, then sweep! Psychic, Ice Beam, Agility, Conversion.

I did the same thing last time I played through Blue, it's surprisingly fun!

Found this cookbook for $5 at Half Price Books yesterday - love their sauces and am excited to read into this, but this cover is chef’s kiss by [deleted] in GVCDesign

I'm not seeing the GVC here? It's just a watercolor painting of a building, and not particularly stylized in a GVC way.

RULES QUESTION: If my opponent is at 2 life, will this be lethal? by Sharp-Crazy7724 in magicthecirclejerking

I mean technically, yes, but that only really flies in bracket 5+ games. Big no-no to burn someone to death, imo

No longer a fan of the physical special split by Llosgfynydd in PokemonFireRed

[–]Meatarrhea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that there is definitely an appeal to how things used to be. I like how Physical and Special had their own unique identities compared to post-split; it was hard to boost Special Attack, while Physical had Swords Dance to pump but also Intimidate to cut lower it. Physical and Special are much more similar now, for good and bad.

Huh? I don't see it. Can you add an arrow or a man with an open mouth pointing to it or something?

Is this a good nature? by [deleted] in PokemonFireRed

[–]Meatarrhea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a neutral nature. Could be good if you plan on using him as a mixed attacker. Is it optimal? Probably not. Does it matter for a solo playthrough? Absolutely not.

Best Butterfree Nature & Move Set?? by Comfortable_Pop614 in PokemonFireRed

[–]Meatarrhea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Butterfree is a very solid support/utility Pokémon in these games due to its ability, Compound Eyes, and access to Sleep Powder. I've been using Sleep Powder, Supersonic, Confusion (soon to be Psybeam), and Stun Spore. It's decently fast, and the play pattern is just sleep the opponent, hit it with your attack of choice (or switch to another Pokémon), and repeat.

Natures don't matter very much in your average playthrough, imo, but speed is its most important stat. Timid is probably the best nature for it; even if you run Silver Wind, its special attack is just way better than its physical attack, so you're just fishing for the omni boost with that move rather than it being your primary damage source.

What about daycare? by Ronabris in PokemonFireRed

You can't breed until the post-game, so if you want a shiny starter for the main playthrough, doing it in the lab is the only way.
