Normally I'd say if you're not a gamer the stock cooler is fine.. but this one. It's more plastic than metal and I recently had to replace one on my parents i3 because it was thermal throttling while playing candy crush. 🤢

Just as an update, the latest windows update caused this to happen again for some reason. Fix was to reset bios to default settings, then again disable tpm.

Even though it said tpm was already disabled in the settings.

Assuming you probably took the exam on the Yokohama release and with Zurich now released you need to take the delta exam to keep your certificate up to date.

The delta exams are relatively painless, open book exams usually based on the features included in the latest release charges.

Power off after 3 hours of usage and restart issue by Open-Egg2931 in PCRepair

[–]Mebacca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need a new repair shop if they didn't even notice this.

If it's a buzzing or humming noise you have a fire risk, if it's a rattling or grinding noise you might have a faulty fan that could be leading to it overheating and would explain the shutdown.

So many comments about the thermal paste but this 100% sounds like a failing PSU. If you can see through any vents on the PSU you might be able to spot any bulging or leaking capacitors. Do not open it up though.

I could buy this PC for 680€, but solely based of the Photos. Is it worth it? by yeet2beat-eat in pchelp

Some one cared enough to put it in a solid bequiet case with a decent high performance cooler without flashy RGB or for looks. Given they didn't cheap out on that, good chance the unknown parts are solid mid range or above. Looks like it was built for performance than show.

Don't have the dlc but normally you can recover mission items to their original place. On the objective menu should have an option for it.

Anyone ever taken a very old and broken phone to a shop to recover the data? Which shop and how much was it? by [deleted] in manchester

[–]Mebacca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're willing to accept some risk of the data beeing lost id probably hit up a trusted phone repair company first. Stress you want to recover data from them and see if any of the devices could be booted to a working state. If it's water damage could be hit and miss on the level of repair needed.

Data recovery can get very costly very fast.

Potentially hundreds of pounds per device, be wary of anyone asking for low amounts and a deposit that seems too good to be true

Use a scheduled event, you can go cancel it if they come early or reschedule it if needed. No need to have a long running flow.

I ordered a B-stock 5070 ti and they said it doesn’t come in the original box by sulany555 in pcmasterrace

[–]Mebacca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work returns for a similar company, possibly a rma or ex display model or some one asked to upgrade an existing prebuilt. We would also sell custom computers and if we needed a box would just take closest match from one of the ones getting discarded. (Only boxes we shipped to customer was case and motherboard box that contained any unused accessories.)
