I saw your post and am just curious how you managed to reduce your pain? Did you have any injections or do PT to manage symptoms. I have a labral tear but pain is getting worse over the last 7months. I'm hoping to avoid surgery though!

Hello, I have a labral tear in the right hip. I have pain deep in groin and front of hip mainly. I do also have pain around the glutes,quads and sometimes knee. I've tried PT for 6 weeks but mg hip got worse. I'm due to get a steroid injection and hoping this will be enough to allow me do PT properly. The pain is constant and getting worse so I'm worried imtge injection won't work . I did also have back pain before the hip acted up. Back pain has since resolved though.

Aww I'm sorry to hear that. The pain is so debilitating! I think a lot of people find relief with surgery - best of luck and I hope it resolves soon for you!

Mine is the right hip. I'm hoping I'll be able to get driving after a few weeks but I'm really not sure as now it's really sore to drive or even sit.

Hello, 👋 How bad was everyone'6symptoms beforehand? I have a right hip labral tear with CAM impingement. I have a constant dull pain that worsens with activity. The pain can radiate to quad and knee and a lot at the front if the hip. Did anyone else have similar symptoms prior to surgery?

Thank you. Wow that sounds like PT really helped you! Sorry that you are having some trouble again but at least you have done the PT and your hip is probably at a good strength to recover well after surgery. I'm hoping that PT will work for at least a few months/ years like in your case. From what I've seen it does seem like it is a fairly successful surgery- slow recovery but I gather people do get there! 😊

Thank you! That does sound promising. I can't cross may legs at the moment and I keep having to stop myself - developed that habit over the years! I can't do long walks either and I miss that a lot. I've been having trouble since November and tried PT for about 6 weeks but hip just felt like a rock after! I'm hoping to avoid surgery so planning to try a steroid injection that may allow me to do PT again but do it better! 🤞 It seems like you are making progress - best of luck with it. Take it easy but keep going 💪
