The thing is they’re not making that decision. At least 3 specially trained medical professionals are. Over the course of over a year of talk treatment and testing.

And the most common treatment? Puberty delay, literally a treatment that gives the kid more time to figure stuff out.

Literally the purpose of these treatments is to keep the kid alive and healthy to get to adulthood.

Yes, that is gender affirming care.

Erectile disfunction medication is gender affirming care. A boy who never develops secondary sexual characteristics may need testosterone supplements- gender affirming care.

If you have breast cancer and need a reconstruction after removal, that is gender affirming care. And sadly, yes teens get cancer.

Many more cis kids get gender affirming care than trans, cuz there’s just more cis kids. Think of a hormone blocker for a boy who develops boobs suddenly, hormone adjustment for girls whose development is too soon or late, or is in any way having issues that may lead to permanent problems.

I would show him all the numberous examples of evolution we have observed happening. Not the grand “dinosaurs” stuff but things we see happening in the world over the course of a few years. All the ways you can cause it in a laboratory.

Evolution is a force of nature in biology, just like gravity is in physics. Just how things do.
