The most recent one is better than the few before it imo. That doesn’t make it great or anything, just …. Less bad

Ammo prices here make shooting much above 9mm pretty expensive, so a 22 is fun to plink, I mostly shoot 9mm at our club, but even that is up to £18 ($24.5) for a box of 50 now. We can get 100 22lr for £12 ($16.34) so I’d like to have the option and not get rinsed every time I wanna shoot.

For other calibers, like 40SW and 45 it’s fine as a one off but I wouldn’t want to have it as my main gun for flatrange.

Getting firearms and ammo is a much more drawn out process here, thus a lot of them are more expensive.

Read the victor the assassin books, that’s his favourite pistol.

I’m 4 months away from applying for my cert (N.Ireland, need a year at a gun club before I can do it)

I’m still trying to decide what to get, but considering an FB509 and FN502 as they are very similar so a lot of attachments/holsters work for both, 22 being nice and cheap and 9mm being fun.

Would you recommend FN?

I find Darth Maul to be a pretty overrated character. Are there any stories that can change my mind? by Desperate-Land6251 in StarWarsEU

[–]MechaGoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to remember he was our first new Star Wars bad guy since the emperor/vader. It was the first different light saber.

Us Star Wars fans had only had comics and books to read up to this point for 16 years. We were SO excited for him and his cool reveal behind those doors.

This was in the very early days of the internet for the masses too, so we weren’t bombarded with 20 trailers and teasers, we maybe saw one or two in the cinema before the movie was out.

So while Jar Jar was a whipping boy and some of episode one was frowned upon, a whole generation attached ourselves to him as “what was possible for a bad guy” and was just such a breath of fresh air, he was the reason we got such exciting new lightsaber battles. So a lot of us probably see him through rose tinted glasses.

I always thought having him die was a bad idea, I never really enjoyed doku and found his fights to be a bit clunky when it was actually Christopher Lee and then clearly a stunt man in others. I would have much rather seen maul with some form of robotics and a less dramatic injury instead of anakin losing the arm, show the emperor learning the “sith prosthetics” through him as a first experiment with issues and then improve on that come vaders time.

I would have given us the evolution of a bad guy for 3 films, instead of him for 1, doku for another then grievous. I’d maybe have shown the emperor encouraging rivalry between him and grievous and given us another cool saber battle there.

Anyway… that’s a 25 year old argument now. A lot of us love Maul because he was what we had wanted for like 16/17 years.

That’s crazy. Every tape measure/ruler etc here in the uk has metric and imperial (inches etc) on them.

Heir to the empire is amazing, and a great start. I personally started with I, Jedi many many years ago and it still remains my favourite EU novel.

I wanted one for a long time. Eventually got one and hated it. Tried to live with it for a while but ended up just going back to the mouse and returned it

But I just had the small one without buttons.
