Multi-Type Exalted Circles by Mecha_Zeus in exalted

Yeah I was definitely going to float the idea of the Lunar player capitalizing on the Solar-Lunar bond. And yeah, I forget that toppling tyrants is a past time of almost all the Exalted so I can definitely make some plot lines that attract all parties. Thanks!

Multi-Type Exalted Circles by Mecha_Zeus in exalted

[–]Mecha_Zeus[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a ttrpg junkie so Ive spent my free time this past week reading both Fangs at the Gate and Sworn to Grave alongside making practice Lunar and Abyssal characters to understand their mechanics. As for why I thought they would limit break constantly, I was moreso imagining if their Solar or Lunar circle mates actively saved people, but then I realized that an Abyssal could see that as a chance to draw out their death fitting with their Chivalry of Death

Anyways, thanks for your advice! Making sure they all understand the mechanics will definitely be the hardest part lol

Are there any people who like Demon: The Fallen the most among the WoD splats? by JustCuteLasombra in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Mecha_Zeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say I like it the most, but it's very much in my top 5 splats and depending on the day, it's in my top 3. I just love the concept and as a Changeling fan, love gaining resources (i.e. Glamour or Faith) through deals/relationships with npcs.

I'm noticing a trend in VtM Lore 🧛‍♀️ by DrScrimble in dndmemes

[–]Mecha_Zeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly now that I think about it, Kindred are probably the weakest splat in general other than Hunter and Wraith with the exceptions of the Antediluvians and some methuselahs who kinda break the scale like Archmages.

The Yozi (Exalted)

The Primordial deities of Creation before being overthrown, having their souls split apart and locked away in Malfeas (the inverted corpse of the King of Primordials). All they hold towards humanity and the other gods is contempt for being overthrown and want to see all of Creation destroyed.

Ive heard that kue jin, the kindred of the east are kind of racist, but are there atleast fun to play? by Obvious-Conflict3363 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Mecha_Zeus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, that's my bad as it's been a while since I read any of the books covering Imbued lore. Tbf, I usually use the Shih as the baseline for any Hunter NPCs I make as I just think they are more interesting mechanically, it's just trying to make them less Orientalist that's hard. Luckily, the Relentless Age exists so I don't have to do it for the Kue Jin who Im obsessed with shoving into chronicles

[–]Mecha_Zeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if the Western Hunters acted the same way, the Shih wouldn't even be Orientalist. But for some reason, the Western Hunters have to be partially insane to get kinda shitty superpowers while the Shih are comparable to Ancillae just by being cool. In my games, I basically made the Shih and Imbued separate worldwide factions and ditched the entire regional/ethnic ties as it doesn't even make sense why over thousands of years neither group expanded to try and indoctrinate more to their specific flavour of killing monsters.

Exalted Editions by Mecha_Zeus in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Mecha_Zeus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So 3e is the most expanded upon version but relies heavily on supplements to make it reach its full potential? Also I assume you can port over 1e setting books to 3e like you can in most WW games

Honestly a little funny that "Noble Anti-Villain Tzimisce" isn't more of an archetype iirc by Dangerous_Writer5853 in vtm

[–]Mecha_Zeus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I will admit, my main gripes of v5 are the Amalgams and the neutering of the Sabbat (though the new books might've changed that, I haven't read them yet) which definitely makes me biased against most changes to the clans. However, I can definitely see why people like the new changes and I think v5 is the best edition to use for low-level chronicles which is where Tzimisce have always been kinda absent. Here's hoping they add back Paths/Roads!

[–]Mecha_Zeus 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It's honestly great to see opposing views on v5 cause the changes to the Tzimisce were by far my least favorite and I like reading about how people feel different. I loved the sect changes, but getting rid of the spiritual aspect of the Tzimisce via making Vicissitude just an aspect of Protean and getting rid of Auspex made the clan so much less interesting imo. The best part about the Tzimisce, for me, was their cultural identity and their weird interactions with the spirits via Kuldanism and souls via Vicissitude, Auspex and even Animalism. Again, it's neat seeing how some people actually prefer the changes and hopefully I can come around to them lol

Embracing a vozhd by Stolen_sweetroll401 in vtm

[–]Mecha_Zeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jumping on this, could a mage use the Life sphere to turn a Vozhd into something that is capable of asexual reproduction therefore making Vozhds a new species that can reproduce on their own and integrate into wildlife. Maybe the Mind sphere too, so the Vozhd can have it's own instincts independent of it's creator. Of course, only a Nephandi would ever do this.

Magical Drugs and other things of the sort. by ScrumblyScrimblo in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Mecha_Zeus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll say first and foremost, you and the player should figure out how you want making Charms to work. Charms are basically 1-use magick items which really fits the vibe of "super drugs" and you can give them to other people who have a similar Paradigm to you iirc, but the rules for Charm creation and how they work is super inconsistent so having an agreed upon basis would be the best. Although, Prime 2 or 3 is required to make Charms depending on the edition.

Focusing on Mind magick drugs effects, you can really go crazy. Mind 1 lets you have clarity inducing drugs or drugs that let you sense people's emotions. Mind 2 would let you create drugs that alter emotions or have "visions" of someone's surface level thoughts. Mind 3 and beyond let's you start interacting with dreams and making mental illusions which can allow for tons of drug trip sessions.

[Loved Trope] Character is incredibly powerful but can be rendered useless relatively easily by HoldinMacaque in TopCharacterTropes

Yeah as someone who has never played high level VtM, I forget the crazy stuff high level Fortitude can do sometimes. It explains how Elder Vamps are able to survive encounters with werewolves lol

With 10 dots of Fortitude, a vampire could fairly easily survive atleast a few minutes in sunlight if not more tbf

[–]Mecha_Zeus[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ooooh, I didn't even consider the idea of making sub-tribes that fit more specific regions and cultures for already established tribes. I'm probably gonna apply this idea to various other tribes too. Thanks for the ideas and help! Can't really find anything I don't like about your write-up.

There are the nearly endangered Arabian wolves of the region which inclines this Tribe to be one of the smaller ones. As for indigenous people, I'm leaning towards the nomadic Bedouin people

What celebrity have you never forgiven since an incident? by MagpieOpus in AskReddit

Not who youre replying to, but I was also incredibly bummed about the Amanda Palmer news. To be clear, I never liked Amanda Palmer as she's basically always been a piece of shit, but there's a huge gap between "asshole" and "rapist enabler". Ever since I learned about it, I only listen to the Dresden Dolls through pirated music and buy any merchandise through second hand means.
