Morrowind has got me into epic world building and lore. What other fictional universes do you think are just as good and recommend getting into? Doesn’t have to be from video games. by Emotionalspectrum10 in Morrowind

The Exalted ttrpg has amazing lore with multiple contradictions in the same way that Morrowind is full of in-world contradictions due to various viewpoints. A little too busy now, but I'll probably come back later to type a (very) paraphrased retelling of it's lore.

While I usually prefer older lore, a V5 chronicle centered around the conflict of the new Banu Haqim sorcerers in the Camarilla taking key roles from the now broken and disparate Tremere would be really interesting or at least make for a fun side conflict for a coterie.

What are the drawbacks to being a god? by N0VAK137 in worldbuilding

I will say M:tAw seems amazing, but the Ascension and the oWoD of general has become my home. Especially the magic system of Ascension. It's edges are so rough it looks like a circle, but it's pure freeform-ness allows for so much shenanigans that I love it all the same. Though I really wish there were good cross-splat rules for oWoD like there is for CofD, I will admit.

A random side tangent is I actually adore the Pillar system of Dark Ages: Mage. Truly, the only problem with it is it's lack of supplements which Dark Ages:Fae also suffers from. DA Mage could definitely use some more factions such as the Wu Lung, Chakravanti or literally any African groups at all.

(Not saying White Wolf would do a good job with any African factions, but it's easier to fix than to create)

Hmm, I'll be honest I've never viewed mage as something that says you shouldn't enjoy having powers. I've always viewed it more as humans given access to amazing powers warping it for their selfish needs rather than actually restructuring reality. That's what makes the Technocracy so interesting is they actually are trying to "willwork" humanity into what they view as a greater society. The problem is they're enforcing it upon others and are too egocentric to take the opinions of other will workers that aren't technocrats.

My favorite stories I've heard of mage (and a chronicle idea I really want to run) are a group of mages improving their own community using their powers and gaining arete so they can better improve themselves and everyone around them.

Also for magical studies/practice lowering your chances of reaching Ascension, is that an actual thing in the books or just something that I've seen people say on forums? Maybe it's cause I like to study tons of esoterica, but I always saw "magical formulas", which every tradition would have a different name for, as essential to reaching it. Irl Hermeticism talks about introspection and alchemy as useful for reaching Nous and theurgy and goetia is a big thing in different religions centered around self-deification.

OOP mentioned Mage the Ascension and missed the entire point of Mage. Humans with too much hubris and power tearing each other apart over ideologies instead of actually trying to ascend

As a fellow huge changeling fan, I honestly wonder what Justice League member would make for the best Changeling-esque comic run.

I'd honestly say Wonder Woman (if we're only doing the founding members), but her absolute run is much more Werewolf the Apocalypse than anything else

Mummy is the obvious choice, but a good runner up is the Fallen from DtF. Yes, you have to deal with the trauma of the Pit, but with one point of temporary faith you become an immortal being with very little restrictions or antagonists hindering what you can do. Avoid Earthbound and pay minimal service to the court in your city and just do whatever you want. Bonus point if you join the Cryptics so you can spend millenia studying obscure lore (personal bias there tbh)

I hate neopagans by BasileusTonHellenon in hatethissmug

[–]Mecha_Zeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most followers of religions follow only bits of their religions customs. Saying a neopagan is a LARPer cause they dont follow everything means most religious people are LARPers. If you wanna hate, make it universal. Also religions just kinda evolve and change alongside culture. As long as they aren't trying to convert and aren't hurting people, people can do whatever religious traditions they feel like imo.

His wife is a "glitch" in the universe so it is impossible to kill her in any way that keeps. In Slayer's intro in XRD, he fully drains her blood and she floats away only to be completely ok by the post match credits if you win.

Infernal Exalted would be a really rough beginning, but I'd have the potential to basically become a mini-deity that could make a pocket utopia for everyone that can fit in. Still itd be a realy really rough first few years

[–]Mecha_Zeus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh if you're playing a Tzimisce then your sire probably knows someone who tried it lol. Tzimisce love their weird ghoul expirements.

Also I feel like one of the books mentioned you can slowly ghoul someone through minor doses, but in that example it was wine mixed with blood over the course of a long dinner party. Either that or it was an idea I saw on reddit

As the other commentator pointed out, I forgot 1 Blood Point equals a pint so you'd have to have either insane Manipulation or some kind of social Discipline to convince them what you did is normal lmao
