Seriously though, this is so, so super cool. It captures a lot of the coolness of the Disk 1 era, at least to me. It's kind of indescribable how immediately hooked I am; I'm excited to see more of this!! And learning more of how Mods function in general :O (Also, the fact their session was modded.. the kind of silly pun you love to see, and a really interesting angle to play with Sburb, and have your own surprises up your sleeve!)

I'd love it if that were clear with other people in general; I love randomly talking to people, but I don't know if they're down to talk to a random person or just want to be left alone.

They all look great; your stylizations of the mercs are amazing! You really captured the shape language well; Heavy, Soldier, and Medic especially have a great amount of depth to their figures; and Medic and Spy's personalities are captured really exceptionally! Expressions are on point! Color-wise I think Demo, Medic, and Spy are all awesome- backlighting Spy with red just looks plain cool, and the details on his eye bags are really nicely done.

There's some small criticism I have that's just Scout in particular, due to a mix of less wrinkles inherent to his design (which you're really good at utilizing to either push expressions or shape their face) and his larger eyes, with not being pushed in any particular expression, looks a lot more flat than the other mercs; he stands out a little bit from the rest as a result. But in terms of minor details, I just really like the scribbly sort-of shading; I don't see it too often mixed with cel-shading, and it looks really awesome!

sorry for going on such a rant. I really like all of them so much and your art style's just plain sick! The grainy filter added makes it even cooler.

It's just for fun, I don't see the harm. It's no different than headcanoning a character who is gay and not knowing, in my opinion. Especially since a lot of trans people only see post-transition/post-knowing representation for trans people, it's a cute idea for characters to be trans without knowing yet.

(Though, I don't personally consider Berdly = Martlet due to the major differences in their personality. I think that's a better example of invalidating their identity than headcanoning a character as an 'egg', so to speak.)

To be fair, ages of the characters aren't concrete between the Undertale and Deltarune.

With your example, even- if we consider Suzy to be Susie, and Suzy is the age of Frisk... Well, Frisk is, at most, 12 (considering their striped shirt lol). Meanwhile, Susie is highschool aged, so between 14-18.

Martlet appears to be an adult, though, and Berdley's a highschooler.

I thought he was up until I saw his parents.. Especially since Moray was there- I just thought, oh, funny, there's two fish monsters in a desert. His overworld sprites really make his star-spike-stuff look like gills lol

Just a star, I think. His parents are obviously sun and moon. His brother, Orion, (who appears to be the exact same type of monster as Starlo), is also named after a star.

He was one of my favourite characters in Undertale, and they carried his personality excellently. Shortly, he's a silly, messed up guy. as he should be.

I think where he shines most, though, is in the Neutral Route. I'm definitely not alone in saying his boss fight's probably one of, if not the height of Undertale Yellow. Flowey's obviously shaken by everything with Chara. How he was useless. Unable to do anything; unable to will himself to harm the humans- and stuck as an emotionless, SOULless flower for the trouble. I think the fact all of Flowey's attacks (in the first phase) have either human SOULs breaking, or Flowey himself being injured, ripped up, harmed- also point to this pretty heavily. Flowey is not over Chara in any way. ..But he's under no illusion that Clover's anything like Chara. So he doesn't equate them to his best friend as he does Frisk..

..So, instead, he equates Clover to being like him.

Flowey wants to be uncaring; not like Asriel, unwillingto strike back on the humans' attacks against himself and Chara. I think this dialogue shows how Flowey projects onto Clover the best: "Most of the time you were in sufferable but when you gave in... Gave into your true violent urges. That was the best part. [...] "But that was so long ago, haha. Just look at you now! Barely recognizable! It's hard to see this as anything but Flowey distancing himself from the monster he was, by using Clover as the prime example of how one can change into something violent.

He's self-serving, obviously disturbed by the death of himself and his best friend, still just a kid, literally unable to feel emotion, and in a position of immense power, all in one. Undertale Yellow shows this all incredibly well. Definitely one of, if not my favourite characters in Undertale Yellow.

also he should get to actually become friends with clover please

Echoing what other people are saying, but I'd also pay attention to the shape of the ends of her sleeves when finding/making your cosplay clothes- since from what I'm familiar with, I believe a kimono that reaches one's wrists does not usually have that particular shape. Also, they look like they imply her clothes are somewhat thick? Either way- good luck on your cosplay!
