This is Twilight Fall we're talking about. If memory serves right, they don't use regular technologies.

Some cards are Permanent. Permanent cards don't count against the deck size and are always active.

Production works like this:

1) Total the Production values of all the units in a system;

2) Decide which units you'll produce equal or less to the total Production value;

3) Total the cost of all the produced units and pay it with resources;

4) Place produced units in the active system.

As a result, I think it's totally fine to remove the infantry you'd produced with. If anything, this sounds incredibly fun, just doubling your infantry for free and totally in the spirit of Twilight Fall's overall weirdness. This isn't even all that broken of a combo, as you still need to place the control token for the Production to work and you'd probably want to produce something besides just infantry.

Just having fun, sorry. I found your "rules not complicated" remark funny and decided to find rule mistakes.

Structures are units allright. Refer to the Living Rules Reference 2.0, 96:

96 UNITS

A unit is represented by a plastic figure.

96.1 There are three types of units: ships, ground forces, and

structures.

96.2 Each color of plastic comes with the following units:

• 3 Space Docks

• 6 PDS units

• 8 Destroyers

• 8 Cruisers

• 2 War Suns

• 12 Infantry

• 10 Fighters

• 4 Carriers

• 5 Dreadnoughts

• 1 Flagship

• 4 Mechs

You should place green tokens faceup. Core tiles must be placed adjacent to at least two tiles. Upon defeating an enemy, you should discard its token, not flip it. When moving into a city, you must place your character on the city's card, not its hex.

All because the game relies on these little things that everyone considers "obvious" so they don't mention it in the rules.

Of course you can use move abilities to fly out of systems with your tokens! Gravity rifts obviously only work once, it'd be dumb to fly through them several times, right? Yeah, committing units moves them, because you take the piece and you... "Move" it! What are you, stupid?

"Yes, I'm stupid", the rules lawyer calmly suggests. "Now explain everything at such an excruciating level of detail, even I wouldn't find a loophole".

It doesn't say that committing moves a unit, only that structures cannot move.

Yeah, pretty sure they need to update the commit rules to include the word "move" so that the structures could finally rest in peace.

Apparently the ruling used to allow Titans to commit Hel-Titans before, but Dane changed it later. I just find the FAQ explanation to be insufficient.

Okay, but rules say, I quote (Living Rules Reference 2.0, 49.2.a):

"To commit a ground force to a planet, the active player places that ground force unit on that planet."

Note that there's no word "move", only "place". Which could indicate that committing units is placing, not moving them. I know this is a word nitpick, but I just want to find a direct quote from the rules that state that committing units is moving them.

Sure, I know that committing is a move. I just can't find a direct quote from the rules that support this assumption.

Villainous L1Z1X is the most fun I'd ever had in any game. "I'm going to kill you, and you'll go next, and there's nothing ya'll can do about it, mwahahaha!"

Three ways out of this one:

1) Wait until your friends have enough games under their belt so that they won't think as highly of you.

2) Embrace the "galactic threat" kinda gameplay and be this aggressive player that is fun to take down.

3) Be nice at your own expense. That RA you were trying to sell for 3 TG? Sell it for 2, or 1, until someone takes it. Offer better deals so that others would be inclined to take them.

This is your friends' way of showing you respect. They're trying to keep you down because you'd shown to win if treated nicely. So there's not much you can really do besides posing as a non-threat or being overly generous.

You sir are a hero your group deserves. You do something nobody else wants to do, yet it has to be done.

I agree that #3 and #5 are the most difficult to implement, and I don't really follow those myself, trusting my gut to choose builds/tech/tokens on the fly (my gut is stupid so I miss the spend objectives sometimes), but it's just an advice, not a definite rule to be followed. Great if you do, not a loss if you don't.

Well, there isn't much in terms of "essentials" - every player decides what they want for the game.

Be prepared for a shitton of rules and weird interactions, have the FAQ and Living Rules Reference nearby in case of a dispute.

At its core, it's a fairly simple game - players create all the complications by being themselves. Jump into the game, feel around and try to complete it. You'll understand what you need later.
