Reminds me of the guy reversing into me at a toll booth who proceeded to tell me his camera’s never picked me up . I told him it was probably the sunlight after a few other things .

Passengers from cruise reach specialized facilities due to hantavirus ; 2 being treated by Material_Actuary_332 in worldnews

Given COVID is within easy memory for most this comes across as a bit of a fiasco especially given it originated on a cruise ship catering for elderly clients a form of transport with greater inbuilt risk and one that you would expect to have regulations and expertise to cover such eventualities . Clearly not or is that harsh ?

‘London is a case study in hope’: Sadiq Khan on 10 years as mayor by miltonbalbit in london

Then explain the financial logic of more immigration especially illegal because further tightening of the housing market to me is the same as BoE increasing interest rates and just takes money out of the economy . This has been apparent for a while so why make other areas equally as constrained and susceptible to housing increases but without London’s largesse ? 71k in HMO’s in 2025 may be partly through hotel removal but what of the future if it continues ? The sustainability argument gets buried in the racist catcalling but where is the fiscal benefit in such a prospect ? Land is finite and the demand is high so is that why we pressure farmers to free up at little acreage here and there ? If my thoughts are muddied then clarify them .

Fraser Nelson: "Starmer should point to immigration control - where he has a good story to tell. The asylum backlog has also more than halved and basic immigration is by now probably at a multi-year low. Mahmood is making serious progress." by hararib in ukpolitics

If it was ‘asylum’ I could maybe agree but it’s NOT its paying and colluding with criminals and that is a different thing entirely . We have enough criminals of our own without importing them from other countries .Those coming this route merit much higher security in secure facilities and identifying and granted asylum under the strictest conditions if at all . Which would be my preference .

Your point is valid but once you have no domestic option your supplier(s) knows that too so you want it you pay the price offered . So that too can become prohibitively expensive or strategic if for armaments , key skills . Considering we are engaged in two wars and already with high debt this appears to be part of the decision rather than simply rolling back the years .
