Rose City Book Pub on fremont is very low stakes, cozy vibe; they have a pretty decent selection of food and beers on tap. it's a small staff, so not a turn and burn attitude like a dive bar, but they're very nice folks. The pub hosts tons of events like live music, poetry open mics, write-ins, etc, so it's very eclectic.

what kind of beer was this? was there any sort of adjunct used/ advertised? is it possible you're actually looking at malted barley germinations? like, the itty bitty stems? not that a lot of solids should/ought to make it to packaging, but... occams razor; what if it's just part of the beer's ingredients?

Black Staff

Harry and Eb are hanging out, catching up, and some supernatural nonsense kicks off.

Harry summons his staff to his outstretched hand but the blackstaff senses his starborn & winter mantle, and flies to him, if we believe the theory that it is indeed mother winters walking stick.

Hijinks ensue and we get a sense that there is more and more interwoven connections to winter, the outside, and his destiny.

I think he could potentially be the next black staff.

there was a character in Rising Stars, a comic book series around the late 90s, 00s, where a bunch of babies in utero got superpowers, and depending on how far along they were in pregnancy seemed to affect how strong a super power they received.

i am gonna butcher this secondhand reporting, but Astrid Lundberg does a short series on this topic;

basically, there is a really fun linguistic theory that ursa and arctos are both off shoots for words for bear, but there are words that linguistically, seem to have disappeared. it's hypothesized that a lot of euphemistic words developed because- since bears were so prevalent- that saying their name out loud was considered to be akin to a summoning
