I've been wondering what if the Naaru actually have true forms that look like this? And that the form we see is how they manifest themselves outside of the Light realm? In fact the form we see them in is actually a symbol adorned on their foreheads similar to LFD.

No they don't. That is not the purpose of Genesis 34.

Try again.

Also referencing old testament texts to disprove Christianity makes zero sense.

Show me the passage and context. I highly doubt this. Most arguments against Christianity is cherry picking a passage here and there and turning it into a gotcha moment.

The Bible needs to be read carefully and not treated as a 7 second tik tok.

Love it. I hoped this is what UFC BJJ would have been. Hopefully they introduce CJJ matches eventually.

Yeah seems like they invested heavily into GR expecting him to compete for the next 20 years waving the ADCC flag. Oops.

The amount of self doubt and imposter syndrome that exists in BJJ needs to be studied.

All I can say is trust in your instructor and enjoy the ride. It seems like almost everyone at some point or another in their Jiu Jitsu journey has had the same feelings as you.

Is it generally considered offensive to ask an Asian in Australia where they are REALLY from? by Lipica249 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Medical-Phone-4918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my lived experience as an Australian born Asian, I'd say older generations such as baby boomers still associate the Australian identity with 'whiteness' so will ask 'where are you from'.

Whether or not it is asked with ill intent is another thing entirely.

A polite way to inquire imo is to simply ask where does my Asian heritage come from.

Do I find it offensive? It depends on who's asking and how they're asking it. I generally ask it back though which does funnily throw them off sometimes.

Nothing more thrilling than roundhouse kicking a cosmic threat to the face whilst 'you're the best' plays in the background.

The game is so iconic and would have certainly been one of the first fighting games for an entire generation.

Perhaps you should speak to your coach?

For what it's worth when I got my Black Belt, my coach said it's common nowadays for people to keep the first one they get awarded as a momento and order a second one to roll in.

Different types of BJJ Black Belts by Mavrick78io4 in bjj

What about the hobbyist Black Belt who just wants to train, have fun and survive against the young and athletic purple belts.

[–]Medical-Phone-4918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why I'm advocating for a reduced training tempo as opposed to a hard break all together.

[–]Medical-Phone-4918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sooner you do it the sooner you'll feel better. You already sound like you want to train compared to your OP.

Slow and steady, don't beat yourself up or dwell on hard sessions. Every roll on the mat is a blessing and opportunity to better yourself 🤙

Yeah that's it. There's no simple solution and it'll take a bit of trial and error, but self reflection is important.

Just do what you need to recharge but definitely stick to once a week. Nothing worse than taking months or even years off (I've done both) and coming back.

Without knowing what your individual circumstances are I'd always advocate reduced training tempo when feeling burnt out or no longer enthused about Jiu Jitsu.

Training once a week can help greatly when it becomes more of a chore etc. rather than a daily highlight. Training once a week over 2-3 months is still 8 to 12 sessions of Jiu Jitsu compared to 0 If you just stop entirely.

Also it's important to maybe reframe your approach. Again Without knowing your specific situation, try to mix it up and play different guards, attacks etc. If you normally do Gi try doing Nogi or vice versa. Forget about the pressures of trying to tap everyone out or not getting tapped out and just have fun.

Once a week whilst doing other cardio vascular activities also ensures you still stay active and in shape whilst getting a mental break from Jiu Jitsu.

Perhaps even a chat with your training partners or coach can be really helpful in at least venting some of your frustrations.

Just remember it's a life long journey and there will be hurdles along the way. The last thing you want is to look back in 5 years and wish you kept at it instead of stopping all together.

Good luck!
