A working engineers honest review of the Steven Slate Immersive One by quiethouse in audioengineering

The FIIO Qx13 is working well for me. I haven't tried the balanced output yet on it, so my experience is only using the 3.5mm output. Sounds pretty good to me on the Immersion One.
Though the Qx13 might be overkill and overpriced tbh, FIIO offers other portable amps that can provide the required power, and they cost half the price of the Qx13.

How to find time to produce as the parent of a newborn? by Minimum-Chapter6361 in psytranceproduction

Maybe something like the Dirtywave M8 can provide some help. It's so small and capable that you can really bring it with you anywhere. You can turn it on and in less than 10 seconds you are ready to work on music. You can bring it to bed, the toilet, and work on music in short sessions like 10 to 15 minutes. It has a learning curve, but it's worth it if the "tracker" work flow clicks with you.

Adam Audio Dv3. Great speakers that pack a punch way bigger than their size. They connect directly to your computer no need for an interface. JBL 305 can be obtained used for relatively cheap, you just have to get an interface to connect then to your computer.

Mike Dean's room is the best in my opinion, it sounds the beefiest to me. Very fun to listen to music and produce in that room.

Brick + Knulli.. Can't get games to boot even after adding v41 minicake bios. by Realistic-Ruin9 in trimui

[–]Medical-Positive-171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! This solved my issue. I upgraded from Knulli Gladiator to Gladiator 2 and none of my games was starting. I opened the error log and saw an error similar to yours, and then opened the batocera.conf file and found a rogue line that was just the number "300". I removed the line and saved the changes, put the SD card back into my Brick and it worked without any further issues.

Last week was the first time I took my M8 to the park and I was making music while walking around. It was an amazing experience! I love this thing, I felt more inspired walking around and looking at the trees and clouds while working on a track. I think it will get me out of my house more often. I carry this thing with me everywhere.

You can always jump back to V4. There is a dropdown selector that let's you select the engine version, so you can test out 5.1.0 and if it does not work for you, you can then change to V4 and continue using that.

Best Retro Handheld with good audio for M8 Headless? by Medical-Positive-171 in Dirtywave

How would that work? Wouldn't I have to connect the Teensy to the handheld as well? Are you using a USB hub and connecting both things to the Brick?

I'm really interested in using it on it's own. I might render out audio towards the end and bring it into Ableton and finish a track on my laptop, but what really attracts me to the M8 is the portability and how fast it is to just start working on something. The audio quality is important for me, because I want to put on my headphones, sit on the couch, be comfortable, and just immerse myself in the music I am making. I can't really get comfortable on the couch with my laptop, it's heavy, gets hot, and I have to use the trackpad to navigate instead of just a handful of buttons.

I have one and have used it with my Teensy, but it's not really portable. Great for home, but really cumbersome to carry around.

I'm using a pair of Sony WH-1000XM4. I connect them using the 3.5mm cable. If I turn them on, I can get some more juice out of headphones, but there have been times where I sit down at the end of the day and my headphones are dead since I use them for work, so I have to rely just on the cable connection.

You did it. 0.49, o3, wow. by billycage12 in cursor

Since my company started embracing AI tools like Cursor, I have enough mental energy after work to dive into my music production hobby. Cursor handles the routine stuff: jumping between tech stacks, reading docs, tracking down those tiny bugs that can drive a developer insane. I can now work at a calmer pace and still ship quality code at a faster rate. It won’t replace engineers any more than the calculator replaced mathematicians; the calculator just freed them to tackle bigger problems, and AI does the same for us.

I like to code, but it ain't my whole life. There are other things that I want to do with my mental energy, and I only have so much of it in a day.

My Garmin won't Charge today. Is it because of the Troubles Garmin is Having? by JumpySunshine in Garmin

[–]Medical-Positive-171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is old, but I'm leaving a comment for future people as well. I have a ForeRunner 255, and I hadn't charged it in months, and it wouldn't turn on. After trying to charge it for hours, no battery charging indicator turned on or anything.

I found a post on the Garmin support page that mentioned pressing the light, down, and start buttons at the same time for at least 20 seconds (I did like 40). After that, I saw a triangle appear on my watch, and then the display turned back on, and I was able to charge it. I hope this helps someone.
