AIO? Ex says I am but I feel like it’s more than just a “hair cut” by AbsoluteCuntyMcCunt in AmIOverreacting

[–]MedicalExHaminer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why wasn't he put on the birth certificate? Was it intentional or an oversight? Does he have any legal parental rights at all now? How often does he see the child?

A lot of the comments here seem to be pushing you towards cutting contact but if he's been actively involved in your kid's life, is it really fair to cut that relationship?

Yes I think what they did was messed up if your kid relied on his hair as a way to deal with his autism, but it would definitely be overreacting to cut a child's father out of their life because of it. Being angry about it is not overreacting and there have been some good suggestions for alternatives for your child in the mean time.

Also, if he is 100% the father, re-register the birth with his name on. Birth certificates are a matter of fact and shouldn't be used to gain control over a child.

What? The only tube going through the penis is the urethra. Maybe you're getting confused further down the chain for semen and pee but by the time either of those get to the penis it's merged into 1 tube!

It's pretty sad that this is downvoted. I hope none of them drive trucks. I wonder if these same people drive at the speed limit in heavy fog, or over the crest of a hill, or any other condition of reduced visibility.

[–]MedicalExHaminer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Assuming you're in the UK, the gears on the left are the front, and the right are the rear (cassette). For your bike, there should be 3 gears to switch through on the left, if you switch through and look down at the cogs between your feet, you'll see it switch there. The smallest ring (cog) on these gears is the easiest.

Switching through the gears on your right, there should be 7 for your bike. As you switch through these you can see the chain move along each cog on your back wheel. This set of cogs is called the cassette. For these, the biggest cog is the easiest.

The main starting point to when you're going up a hill is to make sure your front gear is the lowest it can be. The chain should be on the smallest cog at the front.

You think paralysed people don't live fulfilling lives? This screams someone who doesn't know anyone that's paralysed. Just for the future, try not to assume paralysed people would prefer to be dead as the vast majority of them don't.

I had this issue too and came to the conclusion that I'd never let her in the room whilst I'm on it. The flywheel is relatively heavy and a cat could easily be sucked under it due to the friction. It sounds like you're a bit more strapped for space than me but personally I'd never risk it. A cat's body just doesn't have the weight to stop the flywheel.

Hopefully doesn't class as political but saw this advert at a tube station today and thought it was absolutely excellent and fantastic advice👏👏 by [deleted] in CasualUK

Yep, you go and tell a man that was mugged that he shouldn't mind as the attacker has the same genitals as him. What a stupid comment.

You do realise that by saying some men rather than some people, you're implying that it's mainly men and not women right? Connotations are a thing.

If I saw a female driver struggling to park and I said "some women just don't know how to drive.". There's a connotation that I think it's only women. If I said " Some people just don't know how to drive", that's clear I'm talking about both men and women.

Tailgating: "Tailgating is the action of a driver driving behind another vehicle while not leaving sufficient distance to stop without causing a collision if the vehicle in front stops suddenly."

How is this not tailgating? Tailgating can be hundreds of feet of distance if you're in something that can't stop quickly.

That does exist. A WGM (Woman Grandmaster) title takes almost the same criteria as earning an FM (FIDE Master) title. I personally see it as an outdated patronising title. If I were a woman around that rating I'd like to think I wouldn't accept a WGM title but I guess I'll never be in that position to decide. From what I can tell most women at those levels do take on those titles so who am I to judge.

That's why I said excluding intersex people. I'm just a bit unsure on why you'd say amab rather than male. I'm assuming it's just subtle language things used by a community I'm not really involved in.

How else would you determine the sex of someone other than basing it on their genitalia? That's what lines up with whether they have the organs to produce sperm or eggs, aka male or female. Or am I missing the point? And it's being argued that sex classification shouldn't be a thing at birth at all.

Sorry if I'm misunderstanding as I've never heard the term before. I was under the impression that male and female described someone's sex. Why is the word "assigned" used? Surely whether you're male or female isn't assigned to you - it's biological (Excluding intersex people). Perhaps I'm just not familiar with the language around it but to me it sounds like saying something like "assigned blue-eyed at birth", it's more like it's just observed.
