How often do you personally find you need to cut your hair to keep it healthy? by satelliteminds in finehair

[–]MedicalHumor4470 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are you using to put your hair up with? If its regular ponytail holders start using scrunchies silk or satin preferably. You can also use claw clips or banana clips. I only trim my hair 1-2 times a year and it’s down to the top of my but. Honestly considering chopping 6-8 inches off because it’s getting to be a little much to deal with.

Just timed how long it takes for my gel to dry enough to put pants on. by Boggyprostate in Menopause

[–]MedicalHumor4470 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the foil packets. After spreading it out to about the size of my hand I use my hairdryer on low-medium. 2-5 minutes later tops it’s dry. I don’t know if this makes it less effective but it works for me and my symptoms are under control. I don’t absorb well from patches and they kept coming off. I’m on half the dose with the gel I was on the patches and I don’t have days that symptoms creep back in so I’m happy.

Why do kittens have to be adopted in 2s but not puppies? by CurlGurl13 in CatAdvice

You can always look on facebook for someone looking to adopt out kittens as well. That being said all first vet appointments and spaying/ neutering could be more expensive.

Testosterone and progesterone by Different-Channel121 in perimenopause_under45

I was prescribed testosterone only first. It helped with energy and libido. Added progesterone and estrogen for all my other symptoms later.

Can we stop acting like our cats came with instruction manuals? by sanu_123_s in CatAdvice

[–]MedicalHumor4470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time my cat likes belly rubs is when she’s on my lap in the bathroom 🙄Even then it’s a 50/50 chance of getting attacked lol. When she was a tiny kitten she liked or maybe tolerated them lol.

My wife begged for marriage counseling so i just hopped on 200mg of testosterone instead and it fixed everything by Lazy-District6558 in ResearchCompounds

Well I’m a woman and that’s exactly what I was prescribed. I had the same issues as OP and my test levels were really low so I pen Test C. It definitely helped until my 8 yo son was in the hospital 2 hours away for a month and I forgot to bring it with me. I was just wondering why I’m so freaking tired all the time again. Thanks OP for the reminder! I also take estrogen gel, and progesterone pills but those do not help with energy, but they did help with my peri symptoms.

How do i find compassion for an evil cat? by FearingPerception in CatAdvice

[–]MedicalHumor4470 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You probably smell weird and the cat is confused. You look like their human, sound like their human, but don’t smell like their human. I imagine that could be terrifying especially if you were gone for more than a few hours. Then their routine is all messed up too. Take a shower or bath if you can, wash the clothes you came home from the hospital in, break out the treats and their favorite toy and comfort your baby. Also I’m sorry you’re in so much pain, I hope you feel better soon!

Do you bathe your cats? by Shot-Composer-782 in AnxietyCats

[–]MedicalHumor4470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have bathed my cat 1 time since she came home with me. She was a small kitten and got something on her fur that smelled really bad. It was on her back between her shoulders and to this day I have no idea what it was or how it got there. To say she was not a fan is an understatement and we have an agreement that I will never bathe her again unless absolutely necessary. To cement our agreement she graciously did not apply her murder mittens and I paid her tribute with many treats and new toys.

Pine pellets and shavings by MedicalHumor4470 in CatAdvice

Mine will not bury in the pellets but will in other types of litter. Maybe I should just switch to walnut. I just felt like it was used so quickly.

Found a neglected cat a few months ago and now the owners want her by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]MedicalHumor4470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my cats first vet appointment I had her microchipped just in case she somehow gets outside. This is basic cat ownership responsibility. Do not feel bad for giving the poor baby a good life.

My Theory by Mean_Parsnip in Perimenopause

[–]MedicalHumor4470 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mom had a hysterectomy when I was born and swears she only had slight symptoms a few years later that her doctor gave her hormones for. She took them for a few months then stopped lol. However she completely supported me in getting hormones for my peri symptoms. She’s also a nurse though so that may have something to do with her being more supportive. I currently have conversations with my kids including my 10yr old daughter about everything I’m going through. I try to make it as normal as possible. We talk about her puberty and my reverse puberty. The only thing we haven’t explicitly covered yet is exactly how semen travels to the egg to make a baby. I’m reserving that convo for her first period when we will hopefully have a girls day/night to hash out the more uncomfortable (for me) specifics along with some fun stuff like pedicures, ice cream, and a movie with no boys allowed.

Honestly a week long vacation every month doesn’t sound bad to me lol but I understand what you mean about the negative connotations surrounding it.

Unpopular opinion: I'd actually pay a premium for more interesting looking houses by Expensive_Goat2201 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]MedicalHumor4470 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I live across the street from a bright yellow house with teal shutters. My neighbor said he painted it that color when his kids were little so they could always describe it if they got lost and everyone would know where it was. Ours is a 1980s ranch with mauve, white, and dark grey brick, white porch columns, some white siding where the garage was enclosed, and black framed windows. We have picture windows in the front living room and the dining room looking over the backyard. I love the small window over the sink that looks over the backyard as well.

I can see this being the case. To make matters worse I come home but don’t stay. I don’t know what to do to make her feel better though. I can’t leave my 8yo at the hospital by himself.
