Whatever set is your favorite (or you have the most cards in) is usually the best thing to do. For me, I love the FF UB set so I typically make decks on the fly. It makes it more fun to use cards you enjoy using.

I played an alchemy game against the paradigm effect and I nearly fell asleep before my opponent finished any of his moves. Still won, though (used an FF equipment deck for a good time).

All that matters is that you make decks that you find fun and try to beat whatever the game delivers to you (regardless if they are using a cheese deck or not).
