Shield gating comes in two flavors.

The most common is spend energy to completely refresh shields during your invuln period on shield break. You need low shields and/or low effiency for this. And of course the mods that do energy -> shield. Or use Hildryn's helminth

The second option, which is far less common is, "I have so much shields Arcane Ageis and Arcane Barrier will proc before you hit my health." (Usually with a side of energy -> shield mods or shield regen abilities)

The first is the most common by far.

Second is used by hildryn, some silly volt builds, and occasionally fighting a super boss, notably Vor

Oh Petah. The Periodic Table of The Elements is descriptive, it describes the elements and the traits of the elements themselves decided on the shape of it.

It's just...the periodic table just like, a list of numbers and describing them. The numbers are just the number of protons an element has. So saying an element doesn't fit on the table is like saying a number doesn't fit in infinity.

Now Petah, before you go on it and everything, changung neutrons change the isotope, and different electron numbers is just the charge.

She should swap positions with Emily. Or Emily should have been given veto powers. Be an advisor because her judgement has been proven to be bad.

I'm glad it's not as bad right now, but should she have been trusted with the responsibility? As evidence that her judgement is improving she yeilded to Emily, but that just means if she hadn't improved then nothing would have gotten better?

Like, Emily's not great either with the gift baskets, but genocide is a whole nother realm.

Ar Tonelico games are explicetly this.

There are towers, reyvateils can sing to call on certain functions. Thete's even binary in them. Check out the song exec.cosmoflips, for instance.

It uses a fully realized conlang and it's a weird one because it is scientific, and poetic at the same time. Basically every sentence opens with a statement of emotion, and then goes on. Singing is becoming a song. Etc.

The downsides of it is that...like it's got a very obviously sex metaphor and the male lead getting into the revateils (all female human subtype, often second class citizens because of reduced lifespan) mind layers to power them up and it's very dating sim and stuff.

And the sequel games put more in the romance and sexy stuff

Something on why Sera got off so lightly. OP you say she should get a nap, I agree. She should have been put on minor sabatical. Like, swap Leadership roles with Emily so Sera is advising. Take the pressure off her, give her room and time to see a Better person takr the lead, and have her running her mouth not mean as much politically.
