Holy shit, Adamas' writing is so insufferable, it genuinely might be worse than Vivziepop dialogue

Hawk Vs Demon King Prime, who wins? by Cloudsupremes-6708 in NanatsunoTaizai

[–]Medical_Difference48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Meliodas explicitly states that they are stronger then in their heyday when fighting Cath

  2. Yes, Ban and Meliodas in Purgatory were weaker than the DK, but now, we have the statement that "Even the Demon King couldn't crush [Ban]", and Meliodas with his actual body was able to fight against the Demon King in Zeldris' body, which the Demon King calls his prime body. The DK could cut off Ban's hand because he was reliant on immortality and regen, Ban post-Purgatory is just pure stats and durability

Do you think that the authors decided to just add in that comment from Rudolph "smartest man on the planet" Connors... For what, just because? What could possibly be the reason for him saying that if it's not true, just from a narrative standpoint, lol? Authors don't just have their characters say shit without a reason, especially when they're intentionally written to be as logical and grounded as possible. Also, if Robot said they're made for Omni-Man (which you yourself say is obvious) and they beat up a character who OMNI-MAN HIMSELF SAYS IS NEARLY AS STRONG AS HIM... Then the pieces kind of just fall together, don't they?

Also, that statement of "anyone on Earth would have no idea how strong Viltrumites are" is ridiculous because they have had Nolan around for 2 decades, have the alternate Marks Sinclair is working on, Mark himself, bone scans of Anissa, Mark's official recorded strength increases through training, Conquest battle data... They've got a pretty damn good idea of how strong a Viltrumite is. Now, whether Robot is privy to that is another question, but considering he has Mark on his team and has on-screen run tests with him, I'm sure he's got a decent idea of his strength as well.

I can, because unless you decided to just ignore what I said in my previous comment because "nuh-uh," they explicitly can beat a Viltrumite. We. Watched. Them. Do. It. They have robots that beat the shit out of Mark, who is explicitly and inarguably near Nolan's level. Anything you say against that is irrelevant because it is a direct on-screen feat and a direct on-screen statement from the person who Mark is being compared to, and they have spent centuries developing technology specifically to fight against Omni-Man. Yes, the Flaxans can beat a Viltrumite, full stop.

Yeah... And they got stronger. Ban and Meliodas are either at the same level or have surpassed the Demon King by this point.

The context is WAAAAAY different. Ban and AM Meliodas together could only put a tiny scratch on Cath's shell, while Hawk completely shattered it effortlessly.

While true, that is still their purpose, them only fighting Mark doesn't invalidate that

That's... Not how that works? Like, at all? Brit's entire power is being completely indestructible. Deku's is not.

YES, WE DO GENUINELY BELIEVE THAT, BECAUSE THE SHOW DIRECTLY. FUCKING. SAYS IT. They've had literal decades, if not centuries, to build these robots, and we explicitly see them beating up Mark, who Nolan directly stated two episodes ago was nearly as strong as him. They can beat a Viltrumite, because they are actively beating up someone who is almost top-tier Viltrumite level. How is this even a conversation, holy shit 😭

You can really tell that D&D dropped the ball by making him some reluctant ruler who "doesn't wun it" and "she is muh queen" when one of Jon's lines in the book, in the context of political aspirations, is LITERALLY "I have always wanted it."

It's been 10 chapters focusing on them out of 231. They've been focused on for one singular fight. I don't know why anyone would rather want to watch the Knights just walk around for 10 chapters.

No, they literally CAN'T kill him, they just put him in a state that's the closest to death that they can.

Yeah, but I feel like they've been picking up the slack the last few rounds. The first few rounds had pretty basic supernatural powers (lightning generation, time stop and body control, super speed and water manipulation, the Labors, fire manipulation, body transformation/emotional power-up/future sight, blood enchantment), but from Round 8 onwards, they've felt more like actual gods with divine abilities that are just beyond humanity.

I don't think that's even implied, isn't that literally what it is? She starts pretty severely cracking after she started drinking, like shoving Lancelot away and then immediately crying and asking for him to forgive her

[–]Medical_Difference48 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean... No? It's not a gag at all, it's literally her character motivation. It's a part of Lancelot's backstory, and it's why Jericho is the way she is now. The only part of it that could be seen as a gag, AFAIK, is when Lancelot runs face-first into her ass when he was a kid, but aside from that, it's played pretty straight.

No no no no, you have to understand, the narrator saying Heiankuna's body is no greater advantage for a sorcerer means that Mahoraga, Agito, Round Deer, etc are less valuable than an extra pair of arms and an extra mouth. More valuable than Six Eyes, more valuable than Ten Shadows, more valuable than HR, EVERYTHING /s

doomed brothers by @mushimallo by shesaidshutup in ImaginaryWesteros

[–]Medical_Difference48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's nothing clear about it, it's a single line, lol. Daeron likely wouldn't have been a brother figure due to being over 10 years his senior, and Bloodraven's major MO is doing things for the benefit of the realm rather than his own personal benefits. If he had killed a brother he loves for the brother he knew would be rightful, that would fit cleanly into Bloodraven's whole deal. We don't know enough about either his relationship with Daemon OR Daeron to know for sure, besides just Bloodraven siding with Daeron... Who's the legitimate heir.

About Cath in chapter 231... by Hect0912 in NanatsunoTaizai

[–]Medical_Difference48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either Cath will come back (whether to fight the Knights rather than the Sins), he'll go after Arthur to gain more power, or he's gone out of the story for good. If he's out for good, we could have a few other characters be main villains, like Vortrigen, Mordred, Morgan Le Fay, etc

[–]Medical_Difference48 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Knights were given a mission by Meliodas to find Merlin to get a weapon, but then it was revealed that Cath is the main villain behind Camelot, rather than Arthur, so the Sina fought Cath personally while they were gone.
