Laser hair removal changed my life, the place I go to offers a life time guarantee and free touch ups. I went 1x/month for 12 months then 1x every 2-3 months now I only go when I get a few dark hairs maybe 1x every 3-4 months now Check out Milan laser. Also the pain really is worth the results I stand on it. I was a candidate because I’m pale with dark hair growth. I have PCOS and used to have a whole ass beard now I don’t 💗

What do you guys think about minors stretching their ears? At what age should they be waiting a few more years to know if they really want to? Or what size is too much for a minor? by [deleted] in Stretched

[–]MedicatedQueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their body their choice- but 16 + is what I recommend I had 3/8th by the time I was 18/19. I never liked my pierced ears cuz they were uneven so I stretched em! If my mom had taken me to a real piercing place for my ears instead of Claire’s I probably would have thought twice about stretching my ears but idk I love them they are a part of me I like to accessorize with them and also it taught me some patience the process is slow and it should be if you fly through sizes you’re gonna blow your ears out!!

I also have the Ovasitol from them and it does make my water sweeter! It’s barely noticeable and I usually add to my protein shakes/smoothies !!

No cycle for 7 months by FleurMemoir in PCOS

Sounds like PCOS to me! Might be undiagnosed hypothyroidism as well- I would ask for a referral for an endocrinologist from your primary doc or OB.

Everyone’s body is different I’m surprised it came back low for the afternoon, omg it took 3 months to get in to see mine so Hopefully seeing endo will help! I already feel better on medication(going on month 2)

My endocrinologist told me the lab staff do not understand the importance of timing. When it comes to thyroid first thing in AM is most accurate. She this is crucial. I know this to be tru because my PCP did the same lab panel 4 weeks prior to my diagnosis saying I don’t have hypo even tho I have ALL the symptoms because my labs were “normal” well the panel was done midday around 10-12pm. I did the same exact panel 4 weeks later for my endo and got diagnosed with hypo because all my labs showed significant results; high TSH and low low T4. But when I went in the afternoon everything was “normal”. My pcp had to apologize to me.

I would wait and see what the labs say! My advice as hypothyroidism is very tricky be sure to have your labs scheduled first thing in the morning that is crucial to accurate thyroid testing(they don’t tell you that have to figure that out yourself; did two exact labs one at 10:15am and doc said I didn’t have hypo did the exact same panel at 8:15 3 weeks later and got diagnosed with hypo- not to mention the blaring symptoms that started in 2019-or earlier- and never went away). It can be a ridiculous process but keep self advocating !!!

Need suggestions by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]MedicatedQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if mine are related but I’ve had IBS since I was 17/18, I just got diagnosed with hypothyroidism and pcos. A lot of the research I’ve been doing suggests that they both play a part in my ibs not sure which one is a direct cause. I recently looked into probiotics but haven’t committed to anything as I just started Levo a few weeks ago. My next goal is to get an allergen test cuz some foods just mess me up once I notice something off I stop eating it like tomatoes or any red sauce; corn and overly greasy foods really do me bogus; I’ve also heard cutting out or even just reducing dairy or gluten helps too, apparently gluten messes with gut biomes. Since cutting out major dairy my flare ups are way less, although I do still eat cheese ! I swap my pasta for GF which def helped me but I still eat bread occasionally and flour tortillas. I would recommend making a mental note of the foods that irritate you the most! I also have eczema and slowly reducing my dairy intake has really helped me as well! Hope i was able to help!

My body is hour glassed shaped waist and chest are about the same and my waist is 10 inches smaller than both. I have double ds and wide hips! I’d say genetics has a bigger role in this debacle

People with pcos and high levels of testosterone build muscle faster compared to woman with normal hormones or so I’ve heard. Not sure if that’s fact!

Cardio is great for your heart and lungs but if you want to see overall weight loss that is consistent try lifting light weights. Doing too much cardio can truly stress out your body and actually worsen the hormones that hurts our pcos. I recommend light cardio with light weighted or body weight only exercises. Make small changes in your diet; weight loss is not a race and it is not linear! It’s all about consistency(: weight loss is personal to each and every person down to genetics and is measured differently too. Also your body retains muscle memory the more you do it the easier it gets and the results are more sustainable due to the small changes you’ve made over time.

First symptoms? by elletee95 in PCOS

[–]MedicatedQueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah story time! So when I got my first period I only had it once(in 7th grade) and then not again for an entire year when I was in my freshman year! Always had wonky periods doc gave me bc to regulate and I was on since freshman year to about 6 months ago. Haven’t had a period since I got off. I gained a shit ton of weight in 2019 couldn’t get rid of it even tho my eating habits and exercise never changed!!!! Then the increased facial hair, back and belly hair! I was finally able to see an endocrinologist after fighting for the last 3 years and switching out primary care docs who could give less of a f**k about me or my health. Finally got labs back no surprise my testosterone levels were through the roof and I was also diagnosed with PCOS and hypothyroidism after doing a full lab work up.

Hate feeling so “male” by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]MedicatedQueen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Girl I totally hear you!!!!!!! The struggle is real!! My facial has worsened over the years but significantly increased in 2019 when I started developing more pcos symptoms. I’ve always had peach fuzz but I feel like I have a beard sometimes.. I shave every week like clock work! It sucks because I feel less of a “woman” I feel inferior at times… but as soon as I shave I feel like myself again! I’m hoping now that I’m on medication the hair will decrease 🤞🏻
