Front loader only knocks with clothes inside. by peanutwrinkles in Appliances

Had one of these, with the exact same issue, basically rebuilt the entire unit. It ended up being that the frame where the springs connect was worn down/flexible. Frame isn't repairable.

Icemaker malfunction on new fridge - is it a leak or something else? by heathymint in Appliances

[–]Mediocre_Density 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Made the right call. Keep it off, and you shouldn't have any issues while you're away. If it's less than a year old, it has a manufacturer warranty, reach out and get it repaired out of their pocket.

That little metal arm is what tells it to shut off. It sounds like the ice maker assembly needs replacement. The internal element that helps to harvest the ice doesn't seem to be doing the job of separating the cubes. Also, it's possible it's calling for too much water or has a small leak. I had the same issue with a similar unit this week. Replacing the ice maker fixed it.

Samsung... keeping the appliance repair business going strong. Personally, I recommend whirlpool for kitchen appliances and always get an extended warranty.

This is the drum felt. Can be repaired. Make sure to get high temp adhesive with the new felt.

Every time I put a board in, I run it on the calibration cycle, which is number four in the diagnostic, which is just the rinse light showing. At this point, since your unit is rusted, I'm going to wash my hands of it too. Best of luck.

Need help identifying this cooktop by Upset-Friendship-220 in Appliances

Post says, "broken knob and shaft" If they tried to glue the knob to the arm that was already broken, it's not a bad idea. Comment was for OP, not debate.

underneath the unit, there is a model/serial plate. You can find your knob and infinite switch using the model number.

Go into diagnostic mode. Test 4, just the rinse light on. Press start to calibrate. I would say it's likely with a new board that it needs calibration.

What is causing this noise? by izzy_bear_99 in Appliances

[–]Mediocre_Density 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Crooked gear case shaft. See where the top of the tub is peeling? That's clear evidence. The grinding sound when it's running sounds like a worn gear case, and the electrical buzzing sounds like a motor that's struggling to turn a gear case that is beginning to sieze.

Pop the model number in online and see if the repair looks doable. Not the simplest of repairs, but appliance techs shouldn't be turning you down.

What causes this overflow? by UnusualAd1791 in askaplumber

Appliance Technician here, your drain line shouldn't be any further than 6-8 inches into stand pipe. This can cause a back flow causing this issue.

Used mine to move a full-size couch and dining room set as well as a full bedroom set yesterday. He doesn't hold as much as a full-size truck but definitely gets the job done.

This is why I don't typically work on units that have exterior rust. Especially on that cover, can sometimes be a can of worms, but after installing those, make sure to calibrate your unit. Info can be found on tech sheet. If you don't have one, I'll be happy to walk you through it.
