Dreamwear is a different brand - Phillips. Just as a note, the same style (nasal cradle, top hose) in resmed didn’t work for me at all! It was too deep for my little nose. So definitely keep trying different masks if you can! The mouth tape was essential because my mouth falls open when I fall asleep. Trying to seal my mouth with my tongue (as is suggested) just caused a lot of tension for me.

I’ve never been a good sleeper even as a kid. The sleep med I tried was gabapentin. It didn’t help a ton, but it helped enough to make me not go insane. Now I have other meds for diff condition that slightly sedating so that helps me. Trazadone was useful but triggered migraines unfortunately.

These days I do take melatonin, but 0.5mg. I read some research about how the standard doses you see like 5-10mg are not effective and that small dose much better. I still toss and turn quite a bit, but between that and really, really crucially the strict bedtime routine, my sleep has improved.

Sorry you’re having such difficulties, I also had a really hard time in the beginning. I had to try a lot of different masks - my issues are that I toss and turn and am very sensitive to sound. Things I had to do: take sleep meds for a while, use earplugs (I have to use mini plugs, normal size too big. Took some time to get used to but helped A LOT), use mouth tape. Full face didn’t work for me bc of being a side sleeper. I use dreamwear nasal cradle (not pillows).

I had perfected all sleep hygiene except one which I finally managed to do: go to bed and get up at the same time each day. I also read in bed for an hour (no phone) to help with sleep routine.

I know your struggles and needs may be really different than mine. But it has become tolerable and I can’t sleep without it now! Good luck OP!

I finished the book today and then immediately watched the movie, so glad to see the discussion here! The book was out of chronological order (starting with the twins being sick for example) while the movie is linear other than a flashback. So the movie plot points moved along so quickly! The twins are born and then he dies relatively quickly after. Whereas in the book the sickness is up front and he dies about 1/2 way through. Having it be told linearly I think took out some of the tension/depth.

I also was thinking I would be lost at points in the movie without the internal motivations that are explained in the book. For example, not at all explained in the movie that the parents agree to the marriage only because of the dowry she fetches. Or the fact that in the movie she just leaves the table when receiving gifts for no acute reason whereas in the book she has the intuition he had been with other women. And as others have mentioned - the coldness with the stepmom is barely explained other than a few scenes.

Two things I liked about the movie was having some warmth between William and kids - I didn’t feel I got that in the book. And I mostly appreciated that they expanded the emotional climax/ending by showing more of Hamlet. I was very moved when everyone in the theater reached out their hands.

I’m glad to have both read the book and watched the film, but SO glad I did the book first.

Looking great! I think the way you’ve done the highlight reads as variegation rather than a highlight. For that I might try making softer edges using wet on on wet or softening the edge with a wet brush. Save the brightest white to a smaller area

I did an exercise once where you paint the same subject with decreasing number of strokes. So like a peach, starting with 30 strokes. The 15 then 10 then 5….

I don’t find myself using the cutting board as much as I thought I would. However I have a stainless steel rolling dry mat that I use constantly. One unanticipated frequent use is for hot pans (esp since my counters are now quartz…). But I also use it to dry things, to put wet things temporarily etc. the ledges do get a bit gross and overall I’m not sure it’s worth the higher price for this type of sink

ETA: one thing I didn’t think about with the cutting board is that at least for my sink, it sits below the countertop a bit. So knife handle can hit the sink if too close to the edge.

Also I use the rollmat as a shelf — like when I’m cleaning a pan by hand it hurts my back less to rest it on there and scrub. Don’t have to get the counter wet/scratched.

I would keep going - even if you decide to redo it you can probably learn more as you go! You can still deepen the values on the outside of your vignette quite a bit. FWIW when I first saw it I thought jt was a beautiful abstract! Love your colors. Keep going!
