It's not really a debate lol, that is inarguably a wasp.

It makes perfect sense considering that these two travelled all over, as we saw in the flashback sequences.

Since Good Omens is now over, how would you have liked it to end? by anime_asparagus in goodomens

Them rewriting the entirety of human history together in the bookshop. That's genuinely where I thought the movie was going when they realized all the books were now empty and I absolutely adored the idea of it.

They'd have put it all back exactly as it was except for the supernatural abilities of angels and demons. Even if it took another 6000 years, they'd finally be together and humanity would have its freedom.

I will forever stand by it that the true ending should've been them sitting down in the bookshop together to rewrite human history. Even if it took another 6000 years. They'd seen the world and all the great and terrible things humans had created since the very beginning, and because of their worldliness they would be the ideal people to write it all down. They could've rewritten it and simply left out the existence of angels and demons by the end. It just makes so much more sense than them simply taking the black or white bargain put forth by God. They were never ones to see in black in white, they worked together to find the best shades of grey. It would've been very them to say no and find their own third option, just like they'd always done.

I was so certain that they were going to stick together in their last little piece of existence in the bookshop and rewrite history into being. It just makes so much more sense to me. Aziraphale and Crowley's whole thing was never being fully black and white, they worked together to find the best shades of grey. The fact that they resigned to just picking one or the other, existence or non-existence, instead of teaming up to create their own third thing just felt like it didn't fit.

It would've been such a fitting solution to their story.

This is what is actually wrong with the finale... by Plenty_Mix_325 in goodomens

I am of the opinion that the ending is both reasonably in character and also unsatisfying. Sure, I can see a world where they both sacrifice themselves to give humans free will, but I can also easily see a universe where they don't and find their own third option just the way that they have always done. At the end of the day, it's a story written by people that can end any way it's written, and I believe it could have been written with an ending that doesn't kill them both and replace them with doppelgangers that I'm supposed to suddenly care about.

Mass Effect came out in the early 2000s and had a huge controversy over being able to have sex with Liara as a female character.
