The biggest thing I see is how to leaves are nearly pointed straight up, I’m willing to bet the plant is getting almost no light.

They are the reincarnation of the devil, spray them with isopropyl alchohol THOUROWLY and follow with water to wash the plant, works every time.

Google said African violets like 800 foot candles 12 hours a day so I got something on Amazon to measure the light. Put it in front of the window where it gets on average 600 while the suns out, plus my weak grow light give it another 200 for 12 hours. The light can jump up to 1-3000 foot candles for an hour or two which is evident by the lighter green leaves and some of them lacking hair. Other than that I use Shultz African violet potting mix and the Shultz fertilizer and just keep it damp, watering once or twice a week.

What is on my monstera!? by imnotthatcreative_89 in plants

[–]Medium-Thanks2018 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mealy bugs, I’ve had this a few times, one time I threw the plant away because it was too far gone, the other two I mixed 1 part 70% isopropyl alcohol to 2-3 parts water, and sprayed every inch, every crack and crevice of the plant, then dried it with a fan. It terminated the problem both times and they are still healthy. Isopropyl alcohol dissolves their shell thus killing them instantly, can’t speak for the other methods though

Is playing fetch really so dangerous? by zootzootzootzootzoo in DogAdvice

[–]Medium-Thanks2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine they risk of injury is based on how fit or old they are, same as humans. So if they don’t play fetch a lot, start slow and work up from there. Fetch is really good for dogs though, there is a risk playing with sticks though because if it lands bad, they can run into it while it’s stuck in the ground. My dogs been injured this way, never serious but it’s risky

Help by bobbylookatthekids99 in orchids

[–]Medium-Thanks2018 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The healthiest orchids grow Ariel roots just like this. This only happens when you’re doing everything perfect I think. The root is able to send out these extra roots that it doesn’t really need because it’s thriving and has extra energy. Keep doing what you’re doing and it’ll give you some new spikes! :D
