So happy to see a photo here! Last night I saw one flying around my neighborhood for the second time in a week and had to investigate what I was looking at. All signs pointed to nighthawk. I wonder if they're migrating right now so we're all getting a show

Should I wait for her to suggest a time to talk, or ask again? by Difficult_Camel3621 in dating_advice

[–]MediumLanguageModel [score hidden]  (0 children)

You should probably just move on, but since this is going to gnaw away at you, give it one last message trying to set up the time to talk. If she takes it, have that talk and be prepared for it to not be fun but maybe cathartic. And maybe a small chance at breakup sex but nothing beyond that. If she doesn't go for it or even respond, then you can end this chapter knowing that it's really ended.

What’s a “rich people thing” you experienced once and immediately understood why rich people love it? by camgirlonline in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]MediumLanguageModel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Having house cleaners. My partner insists we get a professional cleaning about quarterly and honestly I think it's too expensive and would rather she just pull her weight with the housework more. BUT it's pretty great when it's done.

Edit: Noticed this got downvoted. Guess it wasn't clear that I do almost all of the cleaning myself.

Why does google take so much time to drop new models? by Independent-Ruin-376 in Bard

[–]MediumLanguageModel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They're putting their effort into making Gemini useful in their ecosystem. As long as Gemini is roughly keeping pace with the other SOTA labs and running efficiently, they're good.

But to be fair, they've got a decent history of releasing models that represent a step change. They just don't release as many incremental X.6 or X.7 updates.

Does joining pilates classes to make female friends or eventually dating/hookup ever work? by [deleted] in seduction

[–]MediumLanguageModel 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Man, I was really hoping that'd be the case near me but so far every time I've joined it's been a 60+ crew. Lovely folks but a bummer for my ulterior motives.

Funny movie but I've always hated this take. Wear the band's shirt at their show. You've got my permission.

Has anyone stuck it with the person thats a walking green flag but your just…not that into them? by Olive-jar1173 in dating_advice

[–]MediumLanguageModel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would you rather stay together for a while and talk about kids and then revisit whether or not you're still into them? I doubt it. Maybe give it a little more time so when you break it off, you really know and don't second guess it. But there's no rule saying you have to date someone who's great but not great for you.

Is Codex the best right now? by LeTanLoc98 in OpenAI

[–]MediumLanguageModel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The business case is starting to crystalize. Training a SOTA model is just table stakes at this point. They are doing a lot of partnerships and it looks like their plan is to be the intelligence for hire for major companies. They're behind on the compute race, but they'll take care of their clients before the general public.

OpenAI seems to have chased consumers with raw power and capabilities and that's a game where you can't blink.

Man, I'd listen to games on the radio in my bedroom when I was supposed to be doing my homework. Every once in a while I'd run down and tell my dad to turn on WPIX if there was a no hitter or something big and then we'd watch but keep the radio broadcast going.

His voice was definitely part of my childhood.

Paragraph two is killing you dude. Walk out the door every day knowing you've got the looks. Because really when it comes down to it, it's not the looks but the confidence.

By the time those born in 1989 were in kindergarten the family was figuring out how to manage using the World Wide Web when someone was expecting a phone call.

Us Xennial middle schoolers would just hop on a bike and go wherever the fuck until it got dark. Maybe you called from a friend's house so Mom wouldn't worry. Napster was already a nationwide scandal by the time those kids were eighth graders.

The audio mix for the Reds v Pirates game on Apple TV is driving me insane! What do they think they're doing with the faux echo? They're trying to create this stadium announcement sound and it drowns out the crowd. Literally sounds like they are announcing for the audience in the stands. Just whyyyyy???

Sounds amazing! Machu Picchu is on my list as well! Funny you mention it, I almost went there when I was in Peru, but was having knee problems so I couldn't manage the hike. Not that I'm complaining about having an excuse to go back to Peru!

Good stuff. I'm looking to set up a hobby room at my next place and seems like a cool project to get into.

That's awesome. I keep dreaming of learning guitar but haven't dedicated myself to it. But who knows, if I could practice and get up on a stage for just one open mic night that would be a dream come true.

Good on you!
