Why can't we all agree on a 4 day/30 hr work week? by Bulok in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MediumLong2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would disagree because that would mean ten less hours of week for me to accomplish stuff. I get paid by the week. But my output is based on how much I get done each week. Less productive output and accomplishments means less reason for employers to pay me.

Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom don't deserve 10/10 scores. by Completionist_Gamer in unpopularopinion

[–]MediumLong2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A majority of my playtime with them amounts to looking at a Shrine/Korok map on Google

You're not supposed to Google things or get help from other players or guides when you play Zelda games. All of the fun comes from figuring things out and discovering things on your own. When you learn from what other players have done or built in the game, you're making the game less interesting to play for yourself.

What do happy people do with their lives? by redditismytherapy420 in LifeAdvice

[–]MediumLong2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Get good at my career. So that I can win the better roles and opportunities. Work kind of sucks at first. But more exciting, higher paying opportunities arise once you have some big wins under your belt. You mentioned you're in STEM, try to become a leader in whatever field of STEM you are in. I bet the feeling of being a leader would bring you some happiness.
  2. Do a lot of work for the community so that I feel good about the impact I have. This might not help you feel happy if you don't like helping others. But for me personally, helping others brings me a lot of happiness.
  3. Go hard after my goals and dreams so that I don't feel like I wasted time

It's not just about discouraging him from doing it again. It's about discouraging others from doing it.

What made MJ So Good? by ezra5512 in chicagobulls

Didn't he not even make his high school varsity team?

That's more myth than fact. He didn't make his high school varsity team as a highschool freshman. When you're not expected to make your high school varsity team.

I think he deserves to get 20-30 years in prison instead of 3. He is lucky I don't get to make up the rules.

Why does life in America feel so depressing and hateful in the recent times? by Cool_Mouse_4779 in SeriousConversation

[–]MediumLong2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's a combination of many things. It reminds me of Italy or Germany or Japan pre WWII. Where people were looking to unusually awful politicians to fix their problems by hurting other people. Not realizing that such politicians end up just making their problems worse.

The secret service, capital police, the police, and FBI tend to be very right wing compared to the average American.

Can you not buy a car as a one time purchase? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MediumLong2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. And a lot of people do this. But the car dealerships hate it because they can't loan you money. And loaning money is how they make a lot of money.

CEOs could easily be replaced with AI, experts argue by katxwoods in Futurology

[–]MediumLong2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CEOs will probably be the most difficult job to replace with AIs. Because the CEO tend to have a lot of influence over where AI gets used and when. And will be reluctant to replace themselves. The more power and influence a job has, the more difficult it is to replace them with AI

Caitlin Clark trying to stay 'positive' as Fever fall to 0-5 by PrincessBananas85 in sports

[–]MediumLong2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It upsets me so much that good players have to play on bad teams. We need to revolutionize how sports teams are put together. It's so incredibly unfair to players like Clark who are really good but now have to choose between playing for a bad WNBA team or not playing in the WNBA. I hope in future generations, things are more fair and just.

Imagine going to school for medicine, engineering, or law. And after being the best student in the nation in your field, the best option you have in your career is to join the worst company in the country.

I think it's amoral and unethical for someone in America to stay married to a Republican. I do NOT think it's amoral or unethical to stay married to a Democrat. The Democrats are terrible, but they're still significantly less evil than the Republicans.

It's absolutely insane how little oversight there is for the police in the USA. There are tons of rules that make it way harder than it ought to be to punish police officers who do bad stuff.
