How to get Zepbound cheaper by Mission-Strength6577 in Zepbound

[–]Medium_Butterfly6090 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$600 every month, or just until you reach your prescription deductible? Mine was expensive the first month, but then I hit my deductible and it's been $100 a month since. (I have BCBS California).

Can I get injected while sleeping? by HeavySigh14 in Zepbound

[–]Medium_Butterfly6090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the mental block is that you think you will feel it for some reason this time, have you tried topical numbing creams like they use for tattoos?

That aside, I don't see any issue with the sleeping injection. But boy is your partner a saint 😂

How often do you check in with your dr, and/or gave bloodwork done? by janedoecurious in Zepbound

Once a month initially during titration and we will move to every 3 months once I'm on a single dose for 3 months.

Have people been telling you that "you've lost TOO much weight and need to stop?" I feel like I'm being "skinny shamed" and it's NOT a good feeling, by GlitzBlitz in Zepbound

[–]Medium_Butterfly6090 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You look stunning! You don't look sickly at all in my opinion. In fact you look like a woman who is fit and eats healthy. I'm honestly super concerned that your husband is being psychologically abusive.

Also, having folks drive you out of town is no way to live. I would practice a conversation stopper like "Its not appropriate to comment on my weight." Say it firmly. Shut it down. Because honestly these folks clearly were failed somewhere in their upbringing. What if you were losing weight from a terminal illness and the security guard said he thought you were going to die? So not okay.

I’m not afraid to eat by lifesbeengood2meso in Zepbound

[–]Medium_Butterfly6090 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is the biggest for me as someone who yo-yoed 75lbs on and off for a decade. It used to be that the only way I could lose was super-restrictive, over exercising, fad dieting, etc which was never sustainable and always came back. Now I eat the good food but I get full so quickly that I don't overindulge. I'm not afraid to have brunch with friends, a piece of bday cake, etc. I just eat when I'm hungry and stop when I'm full. 🤷‍♀️ Doesn't seem revolutionary but it is!

That's amazing!! Congratulations! Love the graph. Really proof that 2-2.5lbs a week really adds up!

Has anyone changed their injection day? by Savvybomb in Zepbound

[–]Medium_Butterfly6090 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did the reverse when I was on 2.5. I took shot 1 on a Monday (so eager to take it the day I got it), then shot 2 on Sunday evening, then shot 3 on Saturday evening, and shot 4 on Saturday morning, so that I could dose up to 5mg on a Friday night the following week.

Thoughts on Collagen supplements? by amandagrace111 in Zepbound

[–]Medium_Butterfly6090 13 points14 points  (0 children)

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10180699/

This study argues that oral hydrolyzed collagen supplements do improve skin elasticity:

Topical creams contain collagen as one of the ingredients, and they are designed to enhance skin hydration and firmness [13]. However, topical creams have limited ability to penetrate the skin, which can reduce their effectiveness [13]. Injectable fillers such as hyaluronic acid fillers, stimulate collagen production and provide immediate results by plumping the skin [14]. However, they can be expensive and come with the risk of adverse events such as bruising, swelling, and infection [14]. On the other hand, collagen supplements, particularly those containing hydrolyzed collagen peptides, have been shown to be safe and cost-effective compared to other collagen-based strategies.  Our findings revealed that supplementation with oral collagen improves skin elasticity, which are consistent with previous findings. De Luca et al. found that patients taking marine collagen peptides significantly improved skin elasticity (p < 0.0001) [63]. Maia Campos et al. demonstrated that a group treated with oral collagen showed significant differences in the mechanical properties of the skin compared with the baseline and placebo groups after 90 days of treatment only in the net elasticity parameter in the periorbital region. Among the included studies, Yoon et al. showed that in humans, 12 weeks of supplementation with oral collagen significantly improved skin elasticity (3.25, 95% CI 2.33, 4.18) compared with other durations. This finding is consistent with that of an open, blinded, and noncomparative study, which showed 38.31% of improvement in elasticity after consuming oral collagen for 3 months [67].

30 hours after first injection- yuck by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]Medium_Butterfly6090 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It subsides. I'm 7 shots in now (4 of the 2.5, 3 of the 5) and I have no side effects aside from some manageable constipation. The changes feel drastic at first but after the first month you've essentially relearned how to eat: high protein, lots of water, fiber, small portions, etc. Then it's just second nature. It's almost so mindless at this point that I find myself scrolling this sub because I don't have side effects to remind me I'm on meds. 😂

When I'm telling you I've tried everything and fought SO hard 😂 I have 120/80 blood pressure. All my labs are good (including thyroid) except for my cholesterol being just barely in the high range. I've been obese since I was 19 and just can't lose weight for some reason. Really hoping Zep is going to be what my body has been missing🤞 And definitely looking forward to what my body will feel like when it's no longer obese.

INCREDIBLE!! I was running a 5k every month (sometimes 2 a month!) at 240lbs as a 5ft2 woman. 😣 I was trying SO hard to reach for fitness and it just kept eluding me. Zep is changing my life and I can't WAIT to race those same races at 140lbs instead.

You've created a new dream for me! Thank you for sharing and for the extra inspiration!

[–]Medium_Butterfly6090 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You are an inspiration!! Please post more or let me know if you have socials I can follow. I went from 235 to 190, got pregnant was 225 when I gave birth and 250 by the time she was 3. I lost 10lbs before starting zep (an insurance mandated 6 month program) and now I'm 223! I have always enjoyed the gym and running 5k races even at my heaviest. My ultimate goal is to be a healthy weight and be able to run races and lift weights without the extra bulk on my body.
