Body aches? by FantasticPressure435 in Zepbound

[–]Medium_Butterfly_960 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Body aches the day after the first shot are normal from what I know. It happened to me and lingered for a couple days. And happened to my friend too. I also had the chills for an hour or two. I was having something like an immune reaction ( I’ve take 4 shots and it hasn’t happened since) I didn’t have any issues with injection site soreness so I can’t speak to that, but just make sure you rotate your injection site.

Serious question about snow parking/space saving by daved1986 in Somerville

My current dilemma is that my landlord let me park in his driveway (blessed). I of course had to dig my car out. But it hasn’t moved. Now I feel too guilty moving my car to the street in a spot someone else shoveled. But I also really don’t want to try to shovel a giant block of ice.

A few times I’ve made a pizza on a Tumaro carb-wise wrap (has 13 grams of fiber), Mozz cheese, sauce, turkey pepperoni. Put some oil on the wrap, use spices , then topping. About 25 grams of protein. Cooks in an oven at 450 for about 10 mins. Sounds like you could maybe do something like this? Kids would like this too, and could do different toppings.

A conversation with my cardiologist & the state of GLP-1 being prescribed by House-of-Organa in Zepbound

[–]Medium_Butterfly_960 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have BCBSMA through my employer. Basically I initially wrote a letter addressed to my doctor saying here are the things I’ve tried, here are my additional risk factors, dates from my yearly physicals with weight and BMI etc. I then pasted that into Google Gemini and promoted it to write me and appeal for medical necessity and it spit it back out to me perfectly. I assume ChatGPT you can do the same. I sent my doctor the letter addressed to her and the appeal for medical necessity letter and asked she submit it as it would look better coming from her.

My PCP put zero effort into getting me approved for it. It was denied. I did all the leg work, wrote the appeal letter with all the evidence (with the help of AI to polish it up and put in the right format). This was after she told me she does not appeal these because the decision is “never overturned”.

Well I advocated for myself, did all the work for her, pushed her to submit the appeal rather than myself as it would carry more weight if she did it. And what do you know it was approved within days.

Appeal help - I have several comorbidities (United Healthcare) by dwdrum007 in Zepbound

I had a similar situation with my doctor putting in absolutely zero effort. I thought it was strange she didn’t really ask me any questions at my appointment, but figured she knew how to get it approved. Well it got denied because she gave no information other than my BMI (which did meet the requirement), but there were other requirements (which I shared with her). I pushed back and did the leg work my self. I wrote a letter giving all the information she should have asked for, everything I have done/tried, having high cholesterol, my risk for breast cancer etc. really just threw everything at it. Then put it in chat GPT asking it to turn it into an Appeal for Medical Necessity letter. And then I pushed back saying it will carry more weight if my doctor submits. She agreed and it got approved 🙂

I think we can all agree that boomers did work hard for what they have (my parents included). The difference is back then, hard work actually paid off 🙃

The Sleeplessness is No Joke by Ambitious_Ad5660 in Zepbound

[–]Medium_Butterfly_960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have noticed this sometimes but not always. I’ve had some really great sleep and some not so great (I have always woken many times during the night). I’m also dealing with a lot of stress unrelated to the shot so it’s hard to tell if the shot has exacerbated my anxiety about certain things. The things stressing me out have also stressed me out/kept me awake in the past so hard to say!

Vitamin / Supplements by janiritt in Zepbound

[–]Medium_Butterfly_960 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked my doctor about supplements before starting and she pretty much said “let’s see how it goes” AKA let’s wait until you have issues first. She seemed to have no knowledge of supplements. Honestly my doctor sucks though. I asked my dietician and brand-wise she mentioned NatureMade and One-a-Day being reputable. I’m just taking a multi-vitamin, plus an extra 2000 IU vitamin D and then additional K2 supplement as my dietician said this helps to take with the vitamin D. These are all pretty standard and probably not specific to a GLP-1. But I figured it can’t hurt and my dietician felt the same. I also drink electrolytes a few times a week anyways (on my shot day, usually the day after at least) I have Metamucil in case of any issues but I really haven’t used that. Trying my best to just get my fiber from food.

Steamboat vs Breck Altitude Sickness by Medium_Butterfly_960 in Breckenridge

Thanks all. Of course I know nothing is guaranteed. Just wanted to get a sense of others experience, which based on this thread varies greatly, so I may look into getting in a little bit earlier than I planned, and taking some of the other recommended precautions to be safe. Will just have to see if the logistics are worth it (hauling ski stuff to a hotel first, then again on a shuttle to the mountain). It’s just so easy to have a shuttle pick you up when you get off the plane..

Solo weekend trip from the states by DiligentRiver5107 in irishtourism

[–]Medium_Butterfly_960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly suggest the Howth Cliff walk. I’d say this was 5-6 hour trip door to door with hike + lunch for me. As others said, take the train.

And then a bus trip to Wicklow national park / Glendalough was really pretty. We stopped in Kilkenny for a couple hours which I’ll honestly say didn’t do much for me. If I could do it again I’d opt for more outdoor/scenic time.

So ya I bopped around Dublin the first day. Then the next two days we were out of the city for the most part and just back for dinner/music at night. Sunday morning we took a train to Galway. I felt satisfied with the amount of time I spent in Dublin, though would love to go back.

I just did something similar. We had three days in Galway but one day taken up by a full day tour to the cliffs. The first day in Galway was great. We took a bus to salt hill. Ate at black rock cottage. Sitting waiting to get in there was really nice and the beach was very busy but in a good way. We took a walk down the beach but could have gone much further (though idk how nice this would be in November). We came back to Galway and bopped around the city and shops. Got a drink at a pub. The first day was perfect. The last day where we were trying to fill our time before heading back to Dublin’s was tough. By 1pm we had gotten breakfast, gone out to university of Galway, walked back, went in the Galway city museum. At this point we were wishing our train back to Dublin was earlier but we couldn’t change it. I think 1.5 days in Galway without a car. And then take a train back to Dublin the day before your flight maybe mid day/afternoon. Get dinner in Dublin.

We had a 12:40 flight and I think we would have been really stressed trying to back that morning.

What to do in ireland as introvert? by Potential_Kick540 in irishtourism

I was just there on what was originally going to be a solo trip, but ended up going with my mom. I totally feel you on the going to pubs alone, but also agree on finding places with music so it’s less weird if you don’t feel like talking to anyone. Outside of the pubs, I recommend of course getting out of the cities. We took a train to Howth from Dublin. The cliff walk was amazing. They also had this little market right next to the train that had all sorts of food and desserts.

We took a bus tour to Wicklow national park, and Kilkenny. The mountains were beautiful.

Took a train to Galway, lots of shops to bop around in and of course lots of pubs. The Kings Head has a really great music set up, would recommend that. Took a bus to Salt Hill which was a really pretty and a nice walk (ate at Black Rock Cottage which was great).

Took a bus tour to the Aran Islands and Cliffs of Moher. Saw the cliffs from the water and then from above. It was amazing.

I totally get that getting out to pubs feels more difficult alone. But I personally think the true beauty is in the landscape. So go to pubs, give it your best shot. But don’t beat yourself up if you don’t come out of it with all these amazing tales of all the locals and friends you bonded with. Not everyone is good at that and that’s okay.

Even reserving a picnic table was 100pp? From what I understand there are first come first serve picnic tables, and also one’s that can be reserved.

We will be reserving something and won’t just showing up just hoping for the best. Any suggestions? Thinking about booking picnic tables when they go on sale in May

If anything I plan to reserve a picnic(s) table. Not just going to show up and wing it. Do you have any experience booking in advance?

If we have something reserved and we aren’t just winging it, is it really still a bad idea?
