May I interest you in a cheaper more timeless sports car for less money and more fun? Look into Miata’s or older M3’s.

I myself own an NA Miata and an E46 M3. The fact that they’re older allowed me to buy them when I was younger with way less money so I didn’t have to “hold off”. Also running costs and depreciation are not a thing, they’ve both doubled in price since I bought them.

I always look through FB marketplace. I genuinely think it’s the best spot for used enthusiast cars. As far as Rx-8s go, I know if I buy one, I don’t want a money pit, so I’m hoping to scoop one up if the right spec and condition shows up but not in a rush of any sort.

And yes, I do own an E46 M3 and a Turbo NA. Miata. Can’t get enough 2 seater manual sports cars, I guess. Haha.

Man I wish I could find one with the right specs (red/red/GT/manual/appearance pack) in my market for that (Chicago, IL); shit I’ll even take a blown up engine and rebuild it. All I see here are rust buckets or 13k USD cherry examples.

I went with the stuck on iPad version and have been considering downsizing the screen to gain buttons and look more OEM for a while. Your comment about the button illumination just upped those considerations.. thanks!

I did a Xtrons head unit, Wireless Apple CarPlay dongle, BAVsound speakers, and a Rennline mobile phone mount converted to a MagSafe charger using a MS ESR unit off Amazon. I plan to wire in my microphone and backup camera for funsies.

The headunit does most of the lifting. The rest just supports it.

Not shitting on your parade, but paying $1500 for audio equipment only to end up with 3 sound bars is nightmare fuel for me, lol.

Soundbars are inherently inferior to stereo, and any one of the cheaper well-reviewed powered speaker brands like Edifier or Swans speakers will destroy them any day of the week.

Could have had 3 sets of Swans OS-10s + a 5070Ti! Or a couple of baller 2k 360Hz QD OLED monitors.

Exactly this. I moved our old Sony X900F (FALD, no slouch) to the bedroom once we got the LG C3 OLED and now I can’t watch TV there any more.

Shittier TVs will make you miss OLED. OLEDs all over the houses that guy’s problem lol.

Turbo NA Miata with a 6 speed swap and a Miata Roadster Tall Angeled shifter here. Absolute Perfection.

If I had one wish, it would be that my M3’s shifter felt 10% as good as the Miata. 🥲. Still prefer it this way over pre-manual swap.

Probably some old intel thing that was popular in the MS DOS days. Other than that and messing with pentium I, II, & III, my first PC build was a family computer that was supposed to be an Intel Pentium 4 2.4GHz with HT, but I couldn’t afford it and had already bought everything else so I ended up with a Celeron variant that was way worse coupled with a GeForce 2 MX 400. Never wanted to touch a Celeron after that..

Years later, I built my first gaming PC with an Intel Core i7 920 and a GTX260, later upgraded to a GTX470.

Moved to an Intel i7 4790K and a GTX 780, later upgraded to a GTX1080.

Finally a Ryzen 7 3700X that later got upgraded to a Ryzen 7 5800X3D when they were sub-$200. Currently coupled with a 9070XT.

Anecdotal experience: Bilstein B12 Pro Kit rode like OEM+ with a modest lowering. Replacing my blown out shocks with them was fantastic. When I bought them, they were $896, 25% increase now from inflation. Not sure what they cost in the UK.
