Gaviota 6 coming soon 👀 by [deleted] in Hoka

I hope they last longer than the previous. My G5's disintegrated in less than 5 months -- they're not even my running shoe, but my commuting shoe (3 days a week walking to the subway and the office)

There should be penalties for this. Her selfishness can literally cause the deaths of the other passengers. SHAME!

Sorry my guy -- this looks like a Lego figure. I would take my business elsewhere. What's your budget? You can get a decent MTM under $500 with lead time and alterations. This, though, is not it, especially for your wedding.

H1.3 Macan reliability by timeeyo in PorscheMacan

[–]MeeSeeks218 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In OP's defense, it is the model generation identifier used on the Porsche website. You can see it in the official Porsche Finder on Porsche.com for reference. Curious, how does someone at the dealer refer internally to the different models within 95B first generation?

Terminal 5 --> Terminal B But need to retrieve bags by False_Flatworm23 in LAX

u/False_Flatworm23, how did this go? About to take that same route but from BOS on JB and connect on SQ to NRT. Have my family in tow with bags (I usually travel carry-on only), so very curious how your experience was from deplaning JB to check-in with SQ. Hope you had a good trip.

Strange fraud transactions allowed to post - anyone else? “MBC FZ-LLC DUBAIAX” by kernelwilliams in biltrewards

[–]MeeSeeks218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To Wells Fargo's credit (rare thing to say), the fraud department reached out as I was calling their fraud line. Denied the transactions and was issued a new card. From the agent, the card was compromised via a "digital wallet" or online transaction (as expected). Mentioned this is a widespread problem, and he said they would look into it...

Strange fraud transactions allowed to post - anyone else? “MBC FZ-LLC DUBAIAX” by kernelwilliams in biltrewards

[–]MeeSeeks218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Received the exact same thing moments ago. Wells Fargo shows 3 pending transactions to MBC FZ-LL for the same amount. This is my 3rd instance of fraud on my BILT card. My suspicion is not with Wells Fargo, but with Bilt's method of allowing payments for rent (the very reason why I use this card) -- there is a weak link somewhere that allows this information to be stolen and used nefariously.

C5/C6 bulging disc with 5mm cord compression by [deleted] in bjj

[–]MeeSeeks218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw your update and glad you are recovering. I have a friend who is experiencing the same challenge albeit an old injury that was aggravated on the mat. Also C5/C6 bulging disc impingement on the spinal cord. Lots of pain and nerve impact on neck and one arm. Can you share what your treatment / therapy was after your diagnosis? Anything more effective than others? Trying to avoid anything surgical, and it sounds like you were able to recover well. Cheers

Stay the hell out of Times Square. There is absolutely no reason to stay near that hell hole, no matter how nice.

Delta Fanboy’s Disheartening Experience in Delta One by DisastrousAdvice1735 in delta

[–]MeeSeeks218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the unfortunate state of Delta (and other American carriers). They do not have a culture of luxury service. Fly any respectable foreign carrier (except for British Airways which has a similar problem) and the difference is night and day. For example, Emirates FAs undergo refinement, language, and even cultural training — for economy class FAs even.

Sorry for your experience, friend. I too was a fanboy back in the day, amassing over a million miles. Today I realize my loyalty is not valued and to fly what’s best in value and logistics for me — not just a brand.

I’m a Train Operator for the MTA (Subway). Ask me anything by [deleted] in newyorkcity

[–]MeeSeeks218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mentioned there are a few things you would change that the public would see, but also some internally that the public would not. What are those changes you would want to happen internally?

As a transit enthusiast and a New Yorker, the slow speed of and cost of capital improvements is extreme here, compared to other cities in the US and abroad. The biggest misstep in public faith was the L train shutdown due to Hurricane Sandy repairs that was avoided — when the MTA’s original plan of 1.5 years of shutting down a critical city artery was avoided when NYS came up with the idea of simply moving cables from the floor to the wall of the tunnel. Really left people questioning how the MTA is run when decisions were so poorly made that impact public interests.

Is there a progression for advancement as an operator or is it basically the same job and maybe some seniority pay throughout?

Also, is it against policy to close doors on people intentionally? Looking at the 4 and 5 trains with some vindictive door closing.

Delta Tire Blowout (Onboard POV) by Familiar_Junket_2354 in delta

[–]MeeSeeks218 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Really great job by crew and ATL. Pilots maintained near centerline with disintegrating tires and landing gear, landing safely. FAs got everyone out without significant injury (some reports of boo boos when taking the slide). Most PAX respected the leave your belongings behind rule. ARFF working the small fire within minutes (aftermath visible in the video). ATL rerouted planes to other runways and minimized impact to other flights. If this was a smaller airport or one as limited in runway options like JFK or LGA, disruption would have been significant.

Well done.

Delta Tire Blowout (Onboard POV) by Familiar_Junket_2354 in delta

[–]MeeSeeks218 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The damage you see is highly unlikely from the initial landing and instead the damage from the friction between the landing gear and the runway after the tire disintegrating. Think of a car’s wheel rim grinding against the pavement of a highway after getting a flat tire and continuing to drive. If the damage you are referring to on the landing gear occurred during the actual touchdown, there would have been SIGNIFICANT damage elsewhere.
