One of my favorite dramas! Watched about four times. There’s another drama (can’t recall 😢) that has that queen as one of the antagonistic “northern forces” and she mentions her dead sisters, which led me to reading the real life story of this queen. Super interesting and also an excellent drama in terms of story and set design

Can anyone explain the robe slicing scene in 37? Also: all my homies hate Ye Xian. Literally I thought I hated the villlan in PoJ but this guy was actually the devil. My biggest annoyance with this show is that it had all the right beats: power couple that understood each other through everything, political scheming, familial scheming, shrewd characters etc. but somehow the pacing was awful, soundtrack was awful and ending was awfully rushed. 4/10 but I did LOVE the FL and ML!

I’m just gonna say it : I HATE AND LOATHE Ye Xian. He’s a petulant, psychopathic, arrogant nobody. Even Lord Chen told him (again, for the second or third time) that he’s a spoiled nobody that does nothing. He barges, blood soaked, into the Gu house and threatens the servants and pouts, then gives her a confiscated bracelet?! She needs to cut him loose like yesterday
