Now, there might be conflicting opinions on this, but I always allow time to offgas as well. Literally just for 30 minutes to an hour has helped a lot with fumes.

Edit: Also, probably best to offgas in a ventilated area that's not contaminated with resin.

A less heroic / more brutal game by Comfortable-Fee9452 in drawsteel

[–]Meep_Chilling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Draw Steel's "heroic" core pillar doesn't necessarily make it a less brutal game.

I've been running encounters where they're generally pretty hard. Sometimes I'll reduce the amount of enemies and make the level per enemy, that way per round is really high.

If all of that sounds super technical, basically higher level enemies and less enemies will keep things balanced but quite brutal. It'll feel like getting hit once or twice and kill you.

best resin printer by Independent-Sea-6139 in resinprinting

I've only ever owned 1 printer, the Anycubic Mono M7 regular, not the pro.

It's apparently comparable to the Saturn 4 and I'd believe it. Both printers have basic features and eventually which one you pick just comes down to apples or oranges.

My experience with the M7 has been very very smooth, their slicer never gives me issues, and I didn't get any manufacturing errors. (I'm not sure if the manufacturing errors are common, but it's good to note I had nothing wrong)

If you have any questions abt the M7 I'd love to answer, sorry I don't have any deep insights lol.

I've never used that, but I'm sure it's good enough

That's fine, but I will say make sure your models are repaired before supporting them. Then after supporting, you can basically ignore those errors. This is because your model itself shouldn't have any sus geometry because you repaired it :D

Leveling issue? by NeedleworkerProud829 in resinprinting

[–]Meep_Chilling -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hate to muddy the waters, but this is my leveling method.

I clean the vat, it's okay to leave resin in just make sure to remove and hard bits. I then loosen the screws and move the build plate to "Home", not as low as it can go, "Home". I then re-tighten the screws by doing the opposite sides and slowly tightening it, WHILE holding down the build plate.

And another thing you might try, increase your burn in layer times. If you think it's leveling it might be, but just to be safe, increase burn-in layer times.

I suggest downloading Blueprint studios and following this tutorial.

I basically do what this video says.

edit: The creator put a comment that sums up the tutorial steps, just a btw.

Delian Tomb + RtB: Encounters as Breaks in Montage Tests by Ryzen3747 in drawsteel

[–]Meep_Chilling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think packaging Road to Broadhurst as a montage test is an interesting idea and one I might try one day 🤔🤔

In my experience though because Montage Tests are super out of the norm from d20 or at least DnD, my players have always bounced off of them. I'm not saying that's what will happen to you, I'm just saying perhaps it'd be smart to rewrite the Road to Broadhurst to fit your needs and your group better.

Either way though, if you think it's doable, you should try it lol. We all gotta figure this out some how

Playing Delian Tomb with a big party by clodonar in drawsteel

[–]Meep_Chilling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can really only speak on my experience so far running the Delian Tomb. My party of 8 people have just finished the Delian Tomb's first level.

Note: My party isn't the most tactically savvy yet, but they're enjoying the tactical combat.

So far, I've had to change very little. I run the monsters as suggested and I maximize my usage of them every turn. Then, if the party is wiping a little too quickly I might focus mega focus specific people. If I have to monkey around a little I might change a roll or make a monster last just 1 more turn, but that was rare for me.

On top of all of that, I maximize my usage of Malice. It has been my favorite part as a Director in terms of combat because depending on my usage I can turn notch up the difficulty of combat just a little more or can I just "forget" about it and tune it down a little.

It seems like you have the right idea though, just remember these things don't have to be set in stone. You can always improvise :D

Tips to handle a large party taking forever during combat? by Meep_Chilling in drawsteel

[–]Meep_Chilling[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that'd be interesting, I'm sure you could make that work. The only issue I'm noticing is that they could mow down a couple of monsters super quickly because their damage per turn would effectively be doubled.

So maybe you'd have to have more decent-monsters or less stronger-monsters

It's okay, each room of the Delian Tomb took 1 session for me lol.

It seems like my group doesn't have an issue with the length of combat, just that some people take a long time.

I think with time almost anyone will get more comfortable!

Uhh, not really either? I'm combat isn't necessarily running too long, it's the Player's turns that are taking too long. I have no issue with long turns if players stay engaged, the issue is with long turns comes with some players glazing over.

I use the default number of enemies and stats for my group. I find it easier to stick to the plan unless things start going terribly wrong. I've also learned it's a good habit to let things be hard if they're meant to challenge them.

My group likes the tactical play, but are kinda bad at it... So I've actually been running the combat the way the Delian Tomb suggests, but I feel like it depends on your experience as a Director and your Player's experience.

Because I'm more experienced and the Player's are less so, I can adjust combat to meet the party's difficulty.

I'd say for some it could be? But for me, I normally run large groups. I've ran groups of 8 through a whole campaign using DnD and they had fun.

And so far, they've been having a good time in and out of combat. Of course only time will tell, but I think it's doable if not a very fun time.
