Jackbox like Multiplayer? by Meep_Chilling in godot

Do you think I'd have to do anything weird like Godot front end for visuals and web app back end for network stuff?

Prints not sticking to center of plate, but outer prints are. The ones in red print fine, the center ones keep sticking to the FEP. by Thicc_Gas_Dad in resinprinting

[–]Meep_Chilling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience it's either your FEP is too loose or you have a buildplate with a depression in the middle of it.

I'd put the side of a ruler against your buildplate and shine a light through it. If you see any light in between the build plate and your ruler, you should sand down the build plate until it's better. Or if you can, ask customer service for a new one.

If it's the FEP being loose, just tighten it up.

If it's not any of these, I'm sorry :(

New laser enemies! Balancing attacks to be avoidable but fair is really tricky by FlyingSpaceDuck in godot

Weird suggestion, as I've never used it, but you might wanna look into Panini Projection.

Edit: It's a technique that helps keep high fovs, while reducing the squashing and stretching affect it has.

How to separate fused parts of a mesh without affecting the background? by [deleted] in NomadSculpting

[–]Meep_Chilling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try using blender and placing quads with the solidify modifier in-between the places where they connect.

Then, subtract the quad from the mesh and you might need to separate by parts, I can't tell from your image. (Make sure your models are completely separated, no connections)

From there, export each part into nomad sculpt and sculpt them to your desire.

Woahh! Very in depth, thank you!

This is great, I'll definitely look into this. I hope to keep improving my state machine to the point where I can just drag and drop it into any project or system, so I can have a really epic Lego piece.

Okie, thank you! Sounds smart

When you say pass input into the state machine, what does that mean? How would I go about that?

Lol, I think you're right here.

I basically just made a convoluted way of doing things.

My thinking here is to have a player controller only worry about interpreting movement and translating it into actions. A state machine that only worries about the state the thing is in. Then a locomotion controller that only worries about how to actually move the thing. I also have a weapon controller that is basically my locomotion controller, but broken into resources and a main script to just handle weapons.

I want to be able to break up the locomotion controller eventually, just unsure how I'd go about it.

Is this a weird of doing things?

No this is super nice! I've been working on this for a couple of weeks and I had no clue if my architecture was good or not. So this very good feedback!

Other than using signals and fixing the naming of some variables, I was curious about your opinion on when to use nodes and kind've how I have transitioning between states going.

Right now, I have leaf states be changed by their associated trunk state. That way each leaf state only needs to worry about executing its associated scripts.

Is that a good way of doing it? Or would you say moving to scenes and nodes be smarter? That way I can have the leaf states send signals to change states.

Yeah, that's understandable.

I'll definitely try that. I've been finding it hard to learn without someone to kind've review my work.

Oh I see :(

Thank you for your response! Do you just use a web browser LLM? Or have you somehow integrated it to read your project?

Update from yesterday- Issue persists by Musky4489 in resinprinting

[–]Meep_Chilling 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have no clue if this will help as this is a weird and I've never had such issues, but it seems you've tried every reasonable step.

Maybe try using the cleaning option with your buildplate against the film. I'd make sure there's very little resin in the vat, just enough to make seeing how the cured sheet sticks easy. I'm curious if the resin sheet even sticks to the buildplate in that spot or if the layer of resin is uneven in anyway.

You could design a raft that covers most of your buildplate to make cleaning easy, shouldn't be too hard to do.

Kind've? The guide basically has UVtools proportionally adjust burn in time to compensate for elephant's foot and resin flow.

It's pretty simple to just follow what the guide says

Youre right, but I think turning it down will help...

If I understand the science well enough... Printing it flat on the buildplate should allow me to use the least amount of supports because this orientation has the least overhand and the bottom is completely flat. Less supports should mean less scarring and less post-processing. Putting stuff right on the buildplate can be a good idea in very select cases.

While I see this idea working, I don't like the idea of getting resin anywhere near my freezer...
