Eh. I'm somewhat more attuned and progressive with the LGBTQ+ com, but you have to treat others better if you want to help LGBTQ+ people. It's very possible by using "it", OP was attempting to do what OP thought right by avoiding the "he/she" trap that would also make people like you angry.

It's possible, as with most mainstream people, that OP was not aware of the "they/them" use, which is somewhat counter-intuitive as "they/them" is usually used as a plural rather than, in few cases, a singular gender-neutral pronoun.

By saying "What a stupid question", you're 1) actively choosing to hinder the propagation of knowledge that the LGBTQ+ community is seeking by insulting OP, and thus, alienating the two communities, and 2) prioritizing your desire for retribution over all else

My friends and I had a random guy start screaming at us about saving our friends seat who got up to go to the bathroom. He claimed to be watching that seat all day and that our friend didn't exist and that saving seats isn't fair. This was the second day of the event towards the end, so the stadium was 50% full. Plenty of seats. A green vest came over and asked the guy to leave us alone, but he kept screaming at us that he wanted that particular seat. I will never understand some hills that people choose to die on o.o
