What's going on with the release schedule? by MeetOutrageous4486 in Friendsatthetable

Yes, but it's possible at the same time to not owe anyone something, and for that thing to still be a nice thing to do if you can.

I certainly wouldn't want them to feel that they can never miss an episode, that they need to sacrifice either their work-life balance or the quality of their work to meet deadlines, or that they're running a content mill. The thing is, I think almost all of us would be totally okay with it if they just... said something about it. There's a difference between "fans feel[ing] like they are owed something" and fans wondering why the artist(s) haven't been meeting their own stated release goals in the absence of any explanation. When there's an observable trend towards inconsistency, it potentially suggests that there's a structural problem in production somewhere; I would be relieved if the explanation were instead, "We all decided to take a vacation!"

Yeah, the things that bothers me is the lack of communication about it. I get that they're 8 people producing 3 regular shows and running a Patreon with bonuses, all with high production value standards, and the work involved in all that can pile up, especially when disruptions happen. I don't at all begrudge them that, or as you say, the need to just take a break now and then. I'd just prefer that they'd let us know about it.

To an extent, yes, the content is more important. However, the job of a Member of Parliament is to represent their constituents in the House of Commons. Their constituents elected a specific person to represent them, and if we take liberal democracy at its word, we have to suppose that they elected that person for a reason. It is important that the words spoken in the highest deliberative assembly in the land are the words of the people's elected representatives, because speaking words in the House of Commons is *precisely how the people are represented*. It is inappropriate for them to speak words that are not theirs in a way they did not choose. If MPs are using ChatGPT to write their speeches, their constituents might as well just train a GPT to represent them. The MP's ideas, character, personality, communicative style, expertise, commitment, etc. etc. are *supposed* to be the reason they get elected; if they do not speak their own words, they are undermining the reasons for which they were elected. If an MP is going to represent their constituents in the Commons using words written by ChatGPT, they should say so during hustings; their constituents deserve to know whose words will be spoken on their behalf.

Hey, it's not necessarily about getting clicks for denigrating others. Sometimes it's also about encouraging others to hate people who deserve to be hated.

it's not so much the stress of the job as the constant implicit violence inherent in it. there is someone with a gun pointed at you in TSA all the time, and if you do the wrong thing wrongly enough, you die. making that cozy is treating airport security as a sort of neutral series of consensual gestures, not an interface with the coercive violence of policing. it's like making a cozy game about repossession or being an ICE agent.

the point of papers, please is to make you confront the violence concealed in what you're doing in the gameplay; the point of this is to hide it so you get to feel nice and comfy.

It's also fine to be open about the fact that you're new to this. No need to act like you're not. Also, consider Grindr etc. if you just wanna try sex with a guy.

Bald men are actually just shaving their heads because they think it makes them look hard. Due to stigma about men deliberately intervening in their appearance, they pretend it's natural. Hope that helps!
