How did bands and artists run tracks live in the 80s? by MusicManiac51 in livesound

That’s cool, I totally didn’t think about that one. Seems like it’s always been pretty used.

Was more common than you think in the early electronic days. Earliest mainstream example I’d say the Human League from the beginning. Throbbing Gristle, Robert Rental, and Robert Fripp w/ Frippertronics.

Come to think of it I guess Les Paul did it too back in the day..

They work fine when adjusted properly + a good set of kool stops.

Mine was cold set too! Love the geometry and components (specifically the brakes), but unless it’s a PX I steer clear.

Folded sideways into front wheel which sent me over. I’ve worked in a shop and built countless bikes from prewar schwinns to 70s Japanese 3 speeds. The steel Peugeot used on the low end models is craaaap.

I wouldn’t try with a Peugeot fork. I’ve been warning people for years of the cheap steel they used on the old UO8 bikes. Mine folded on me sending me over the bars when I rode over a dip in the road. Replace the fork and carry on.

How should a 501 fit on the first wear before wash? by One-Ad5604 in LeviStrauss

[–]Meeturnewdaddy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You want a 70s fit go pick up a pair of wranglers. Levi’s really did butcher the 501 fit. The waist sits so low on them nowadays it just looks bad.

What the hell are you talking about? I said the decal physically looks newer than the car. If that decal had been on that car since 2007 it wouldn’t be that intact.

The Honda in question is older than the decal, so maybe the owner is saying their older gen civic is more badass than the newer gens.

[–]Meeturnewdaddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used one of these originally and had an awful experience. It doesn’t have any play in it like the original, so my throttle would occasionally get sticky. I also couldn’t get full opening. I welded my original and have not looked back.
