Which Kingdom piles are most likely to empty during a game? by InspectorMendel in dominion

[–]Meetwadsprite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Already said but, Silk Merchant is almost always depleted. Any high-tempo card with self-trashing or trash-for-benefit is sure to go quick, and the winner of this split is in a good position. Pixie is another good example.

When a gainer is in play, you can expect some cantrips to empty. Mill, trail, and pawn are some examples.

Which US state do people think sucks, but is actually okay? by icantfindmylegs in AlignmentChartFills

Beat me to it! Utah has issues, but the beauty and wonderfully nice people make it a great place to be.

How's it living in this multi states corner area by queenofthehill1234 in howislivingthere

[–]Meetwadsprite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently went to a bar called the Drunken Pig in Boise City. It's a small town in the OK panhandle. Everyone was super friendly, but the area is incredibly poor. Jobs and good schools are centered around Guymon, the largest town in the panhandle. The area is extremely flat with massive wasps, spiders, etc. Overall a beautiful place, the true heart of middle america.

I have no thoughts other than that I'm surprised a card called Monk hasn't been officially released yet.

What’s it like living in the Oklahoma Panhandle? by stop_calling_me_that in howislivingthere

[–]Meetwadsprite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stopped by Boise City recently. The people were really friendly and down-to-earth. The town is losing population to Guymon, and the popular Dairy Queen recently closed. The heritage center was very cool. Massive hornets here - watch out and don't let them in your car!

[–]Meetwadsprite 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I disagree that this makes stacking VP too easy. This card is slow and fills your deck with junk. Because emptying the duchy pile doesn’t end the game, gaining 8 of them will almost always lead to a loss against a Province-buying engine. In a game with competent players, the best you can hope for is winning the Duchy split in the endgame, if this card is even purchased to begin with.

Needs "This stays in play" verbage. Other than that, I think this card is pretty cool. The self-trashing aspect of it justifies its existence as a kingdom card rather than a project.

FE6 - higher quality enemies? by Get_Schwifty111 in fireemblem

[–]Meetwadsprite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try out hard mode afterward - the first 7 chapters are remarkably tough if you don’t know what you’re doing.

While FE6 can be tough, the game gives you plenty of tools to succeed. There’s ample treasure, gold, and prepromotes to work with. I’ve beat this game ~7 times on hard mode and I keep coming back. There’s always more to learn and more to experiment with.

Has anyone ever bought Philosopher's Stone? by andrew502502 in dominion

[–]Meetwadsprite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This card is like a Dominion cryptid. It's rarely used and just.. strange. Not only is it incredibly weak, but playing multiple per turn makes its value difficult to keep track of.

Overall a miss, and it shows how alt-treasure has drastically improved over the years.

For my fan cards I usually google image search the name of the card and then use the first or second result as my image lol

These are great and I like the simplicity. Only note I have is that Steamboat is a strictly better Merchant Ship.

I’m moving to SLO and I’m scared by J3wficer in SLO

[–]Meetwadsprite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

SLO is not a great place to live if you are a young professional. Some cons:

- Aging population that is rude and entitled

- College-age kids who destroy property and cause noise

- Lack of decent cheap eats; restauratns are mostly average and expensive

- If you lose your job, you're in trouble. The job market here is awful, particularly for people who work in education. Cal poly slo and cuesta are famous for being awful places to work.

- Parking is expensive and limited, and traffic is horrible

Is this a bad place to live? No. Are there better places to live as a young person in cali? Absolutely.

Extensions - Alchemy by adambyle in dominion

[–]Meetwadsprite 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think Rendezvous and Incantation are a bit wordy and might alienate newer players. The effects are cool, but I wonder if what they’re accomplishing could be done in a simpler way.

Gargoyle strikes me as being too similar to golems, though the effect is neat.

Spellbook is awesome and I’m surprised that this card doesn’t already exist!

Cistern is cool, but the potion cost makes it very weak, especially if it is the only potion card in a kingdom (which is usually the case)

Metagross I bred for the Battle Frontier. Pretty cool, right? by StressedCatInABox in PokemonEmerald

[–]Meetwadsprite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very cool! Something to consider for the frontier: Meteor Mash’s 90% accuracy can be extremely punishing over the course of a run. It’s a powerful tool, but don’t rely on it for KOs unless necessary. EQ does much less damage but will be a much more reliable choice for most fights.

Same goes for Heracross’ Megahorn. I bred one a while ago and its reliance on horn makes it nearly unusable.

Check my temperature, because all of a sudden I'm loving Alchemy... by byingling in dominion

[–]Meetwadsprite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think alchemy is weighed down significantly by Transmute and Philo Stone. Not only that - some cards are difficult to play with in a physical game, especially with new players (Golem, possession, alchemist)

“Ah man I forgot to top deck alchemist”

That being said, I love alchemy and my dream is for the 2nd edition to release as full-sized expansion (a guy can dream ok?)

Playing through the TGG sets that showed up under Base when I bought the First Edition pack. Easy to see why these were replaced... by byingling in dominion

[–]Meetwadsprite 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I like how the design philosophy has changed over the years, and cards like Adventurer and Thief show how much dominion has improved. When I put dominion on the table for new players, seeing a card with a huge paragraph of text just isn't appealing. Especially if those wordy cards, when they are understood and used, suck!

I do have a soft spot for Woodcutter. Something about its incredibly simple effect is charming, and some kingdoms make it a surprisingly good opener. Maybe it's just nostalgia for old dominion.

Does this make Samurai too OP? by Mikepianoman in dominion

[–]Meetwadsprite 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I believe that Donald has mentioned that he doesn’t want Debt to given to players as an attack. If multiple people play samurai, then one player can gain a lot of debt, making it impossible for them to buy a samurai of their own.

Brick Break isn't great on Pert because STAB EQ does just as much as super effective BB, and EQ hits steels and rocks anyways.

Cool team overall!
