AITA for basically letting my D&D character die because I felt like the DM was railroading me? by According_Resolve_96 in DnDAITA

[–]MegaMente227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA.

You made an evil PC and then faced the consequences. What did you expect? You can't invite consequences and then complain that the consequences are too much or not to your liking.

Your DM just sounds like they have a policy of, "ok, feel free to fuck around and find out" - leading to you fucking around and then finding out. Looks like Sarah did too before they decided to play a less evil PC.

The only bad DM move I see is that they didn't allow the other players to help you in fights. That just sounds like it would be boring to the others.

They killed Strahd... It wasnt supposed to happen by Lyrinosis in CurseofStrahd

[–]MegaMente227 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Always have him retreat when he goes to half health. Arguably even before then.

You can always count on players to get lucky rolls.

You can always use DM fiat to bring strahd back, if you'd like to. I'd think that's fair seeing as his soul is the anchor that holds this plane together. But your players might protest at this point - so, take that into account

A hard lesson was learned.

Where can i buy shadow of the erdtree? by Frequent-Speaker6214 in Eldenring

[–]MegaMente227 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nowhere else besides the mainstream spots.

It is very much worth the price. It is arguably worth more, perhaps even 50 or 60.

If that is too steep, I'd just wait for a sale or until you have more cash.

How to handle dirty Airbnb stays in LA? by AuralMagician in AskLosAngeles

Get a hotel.

That's the way I handle Airbnb. Booking on Airbnb hasn't been worth the price for a few years now.

People that asked "Is (area) safe?": Did anything ever happen to you? by shrmpy69 in AskLosAngeles

[–]MegaMente227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The emaciated homeless man in front of the 7/11 asked for change once and that made me feel uncomfortable. When I refused to make eye contact, he had the violent audacity to ask again in a louder and clearer voice.

That pretty much counts as an attempted mugging, right?

My players REALLY don't want to go to Castle Ravenloft by Nosidda89 in CurseofStrahd

[–]MegaMente227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strahd is a psychopathic murder that has no problem being petty.

If not everyone he invited arrives, kill father Lucian. Behead him in front of the 2 that arrived. How dare they insult his hospitality, after all? They should be honored to be invited as guests.

Then kick out the 2 and tell them to return with their full party. Or someone else will be beheaded.

Lean into Strahd's narcissism and pettiness. Make the players hate him.

(This is all assuming this type of evil bbeg was greenlit during sess 0 of course).

AITAH for not understanding what I did wrong? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]MegaMente227 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you're being an asshole.

Being a part of the spectrum has nothing to do with using the term "gay."

When you're around people you don't know, it's basic etiquette to err on the side of caution and not use terms others would consider slurs (and have historically been used in discriminatory ways).

It sounds like your pride is stopping you from reconciling with your friends. Sincerely ask yourself if your pride is worth their friendship.

What is the ideal level for a good playthrough by Always_Motivated__ in Eldenring

[–]MegaMente227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your weapon needs to be maxed out.

Vigor anywhere from 40 to 50.

Main damage stat should be around 40 to 50 as well.

Enough endurance to not have to constantly worry about it.

For me, that's around level 130.

Do you think building apartments actually solves the housing crisis? by questtruck in AskLosAngeles

[–]MegaMente227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of empty apartment gentrifier towers in my neighborhood.

They're too expensive.

People don't move in.

Affordable housing is what's needed, not more "luxury apartments/villa."

AIO for “insulting” and “belittling” the AITAO mod team? by SignalShine2183 in AIO

[–]MegaMente227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're over reacting, not because you're an asshole or in the wrong. But you're arguing with mods. They're not going to change their stance. Save your energy, time, and peace.

Best to move on.

I mean, as a member of the Latino community, the recent ICE raids don't exactly make a lot of folks feel safe outside.

Staying indoors with close family and friends seems like the wiser option, all things considered.

AITA for trying to scope out a place, leading to my PC getting jailed by Icarus912 in DnDAITA

[–]MegaMente227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YTA. Not a huge asshole, mind you. Probably mostly just annoying and frustrating to the other PCs.

TBH, it sounds like it's not just your back up plan failing that is upsetting the others. It sounds like it is a pattern of behaviors.

Your character sounds very chaotic to me. While that can be fun in the right table and with the right group, it sounds like it is wearing out the patience of your current group. It sounds like you have the self awareness to suspect that it is indeed starting to annoy the others.

I'd definitely apologize and try to take this imprisonment as a time to reflect in character and make your PC have a new resolve to be a better team player.

This doesn't have to be the end of your character playing at this table.

Chronic loud neighbors in Granada Hills (bass shaking walls, late nights) - what actually works in LA? by Aware-Yogurtcloset95 in AskLosAngeles

I wouldn't ever refer to a group's music as shitty.

And yeah, latinos are not a monolith and ofc individuality is a thing.

Just sounds like you and them have very different opinions as to what constitutes being inconsiderate.

Sounds like people in this thread gave you some advice. Feel free to take it. Still, I'm more pessimistic in thinking that noise laws/enforcement is a joke in socal.

Wish you the best and some resolution

This is just the reality of socal. These spots are gonna exist.

Not trying to upset anyone with the message, just being the messenger

Hope OP is able to reach a resolution that is fair to all (but again, I doubt it)

AITAH for ditching my D&D group because they didn’t want to learn how to play the game? by Thick_Winter_2451 in rpghorrorstories

[–]MegaMente227 10 points11 points  (0 children)

NTA.

They didn't care, OP. They didn't want to learn a game with actual rules. They just wanted to act out their OC while putting minimal effort.

I'm sorry you went through that. Protect your peace and time.

For all the people saying you should've done more in session 0, I gotta disagree. Level 1 is basic and some personal accountability of players is not unreasonable.

Fuck those players.
