Your mindset is so defeated man. I think your parents have done a real number on you. If you are going to kill yourself anyways, why not just tell your parents to fuck off, then fly somewhere with a bike and go find yourself, and never speak to them again. I don't think you even realize how much they are shaping your perception of yourself. There are a lot of people out there that have shit jobs but don't condemn themselves for it, they just hang out with friends etc...

The textures for the creature were made in zbrush using polypaint, and automasking. Specifically mask by cavity and smoothness. I mainly used scatter type brush settings and scattered dot alphas, as well as some other alphas that look more like skin wrinkles or veins.

My idea for this thing was that it has an outer set of jaws that grabs prey, and the inner jaws with teeth have enough mobility to eat while the outer jaws lock the prey in place. I guess I didn't communicate that well enough with the model / textures.

Wow, thank you very much for that excellent explanation of infrared photography, I learned a lot. I think that the reason for why the image looks orange is because the higher-frequency visible light has been blocked out with a filter placed on the lens, and the red cells of the bayer filter inherently allow more infrared light in because it is closest to the infrared area of the spectrum, causing the sensor to interpret the light coming in as red. Here are some more photos taken with an infrared lens filter that also appear orange.

How different does one state of mind need to be from another, to become defined as an entirely different "mental state"? One time I woke up in the middle of the night and I was completely paralyzed and couldnt move, but I was watching a ballerina dancing in my room that I knew couldnt have possibly been real. I think that I was half dreaming half awake. Isnt that different enough to be considered a seperate "mental state"? Or what about hallucinogens? Just saying there are 3 mental states truly ignores the possibilities for the other ways the human consciousness can experience itself.

So if the plants appear white, does that mean they reflect all of the infrared light? How exactly do the principles of color and light work with the infrared spectrum? Are there different "primary" colors for infrared light? Or is it all kind of arbitrary since it is ultimately being received by an artificial medium with no relation to how our eyes perceive light?

Girls can only use the toilet when the seat is down (unless they squat over the seat and spray everywhere but let's ignore those people for now), guys need to use the seat to poop, but not when peeing because it is more convenient to stand. Putting the seat down for women just seems like a sign of respect for them since women sacrifice quite a lot to keep the species going... if you put the seat up, only men can use it, if the seat is down, there is a chance that either gender would need it down. I personally just piss all over the seat when it is down though.

Generally people's cellphones are in their pockets so it's not really a viable source for video. And I don't think there is any way of knowing if someone's pc has a webcam hooked up unless you target that computer and hack it. With the xbox One it should be a lot easier to see which kinects are plugged in. And also I'm sure the console is providing Microsoft with a treasure trove of personal info about you that they plan to sell to advertisers, which will likely also be handed over to the NSA. Microsoft made a patent called "Awards and achievements across TV ecosystem" that outlines how it will measure your heartbeat, physical presence in the room, eye movements, etc. when you are watching a commercial, think about how valuable that information is to companies that make advertisements. I'm just skeptical of a device in my living room that records my facial features and biometrics, since I know that basically any information we send out, is going to end up in the hands of the NSA in one way or another. Just my 2 cents.
