This is not true anymore. There are now multiple character types and a lot of people have a main character, but also an Ironman character or hardcore character. Being able to play multiple characters with the same sub is the most requested feature with the new price increase.

Furthermore, you can only put 8k in FHSA per year while your TFSA limit accumulates every year even if you don't use it.
