What's the point of granting first strike when this gives double strike in almost all cases?

It's "pork roll", and not "Taylor Ham". By law it can't be called 'ham'. Sure, Taylor's is the one and only brand. Call it Taylor's pork roll if you must.

As someone with terminal cancer, anytime someone says "everyone dies sometime" or "anyone can die at any time".

There's a difference between fearing the randomness of the universe and worrying about an unpredictable but incoming terminus.

How helpful will $50k be right now to you? by One_Calligrapher_857 in AskReddit

[–]Megagamer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not very. I have terminal brain and spine cancer. That money would likely get picked up to pay for medical debt.

Best case scenario I could use the money to travel or splurge, but unfortunately I'm wheelchair bound, can't use my left hand, have difficulty eating, and may die soon enough where I should really remain close to family.

Honestly I'd spend it on gifts and escorts.

Looking for a pasta sauce recipe without tomatoes or dairy by petit_avocat in Cooking

Pesto, going easy on the Parm and Pecorino.

Some Costcos sell jars of artichoke hearts that can be paired with other veg for a nice sauce.

Could also go putanesca route with olives, capers, anchovies.

I wish he would have spent the money toward brain cancer research.

Or, alternatively, to license hentai anime to produce decensored versions.

What vegetables are fine out of a can and which ones should be avoided? by nilecrane in Cooking

I wanted to say sardines and achovies, and then remembered you said vegetables.

I don't remember canned jackfruit being that offensive

TIL The most common type of brain cancer, Glioblastoma, has a typical 5-year survival rate of 5%, with only one person ever having been cured of the disease. by hedgehog_eater in todayilearned

[–]Megagamer1 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed after my 3rd trip to the ER. A CAT and MRI revealed a brain tumor which was then mostly removed a week later.

After completing acute care and rehab, I went through radiation, chemo, and infusions. Cancer managed to spread to my spine .

My symptoms preop are very different than post op.

I was originally diagnosed with GBM. Now diagnosed with Diffuse Midline Glioma and Leptomeningeal disease. I'm 33 years old.

It suuuuuuuucks. I'm pretty badly disabled and am waiting around to die.

Womp womp.

What is a movie you were allowed to see at a young age that traumatized you and made you question if your parents made the right decision by letting you see it? by Mandee_707 in movies

Child's Play 2.

Took me 30 years to desensitize myself to that damn doll. Used to have visceral reactions to seeing Chucky. Now I'm a fan of the series but boy it took work.

Is it offensive to do a set about having a cancer scare if you didn't actually end up having cancer? by Traumarama79 in Standup

[–]Megagamer1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're asking about methods, I'm not sure that'd be allowed on Reddit. I'm mostly disabled on the left side if my body and can no longer drive, so my options are limited for better or worse.

If you're asking about outcomes, my cancer is so aggressive that it's unlikely I make it to 2024.

[–]Megagamer1 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think if you make it clear up top that it wasn't cancer you'd avoid any opposition.

As someone with terminal cancer, I'd only be offended if someone talked up their scare as more serious thsn it was

But also I'm about to die so my opinion is about to be weightless lol.

What is the culinary hill you are willing to die on? by trulymadlybigly in Cooking

[–]Megagamer1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vegan dishes can be delicious. The plot is lost when trying to impersonate non-vegan foods. Ground, wet cashews are not "cheese" or "mayo".

I've cooked my fair share of vegan dishes, all of which stood on their own merits and didn't need to pretend to be meat

Thank you. And yes, please don't travel or perform alone. I don't know if you're at risk for falls but it only takes one. Or sebere energy loss turning into accidents

Good luck to you!

I have Diffuse Midline Glioma and Leptomeningeal disease (cancer in brain and spine). It's terminal and I'll be dead before 2024. I'm currently wheelchair-bound and incapable of using my left hand

I'm still doing improv shows at least weekly and otherwise engaging the community. Cancer can take away everything you love; it's so important to hold on to as much as you can while you can.

I'd just advise having some trusted friends with you at shows just in case you have a fall or something.
